brenderlou Posted August 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Anyone with experience with this. The Ecstasy still has some availability for the 3 day leaving tomorrow out of Miami. Called to get a price and it's over $600 per person for inside. Last minute thought to do a weekend cruise but can't afford the price. Do they ever reduce last minute? Budget Queen Posted August 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Try looking at a Cruise Discounter booking agent. Should come up with several with a basic search.
get me off land Posted August 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2015 I thought you had to be on the manifest 72 hrs prior to sailing? I might be wrong but i recall reading that
Sparky2 Posted August 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2015 I thought you had to be on the manifest 72 hrs prior to sailing? I might be wrong but i recall reading that I've read that, too. I've also read that it isn't true. So who knows the deadline?
cruzeluver Posted August 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2015 I thought you had to be on the manifest 72 hrs prior to sailing? I might be wrong but i recall reading that While I too have seen that before, it is not correct. You can actually call Carnival the morning of boarding day and if a room is available they will book you. But you have to call. You cannot just show up at the port and hope to get a room. Cruisegoer Posted August 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2015 I would think the 72 hour rule was put in place by Homeland Security, depending on what ports of call the ship may visit it might be a waived regulation but I would tend to think its mandated. zzzz1978 Posted August 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2015 From the carnival web site - "Due to U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations for cruises departing from U.S. ports, all cruise lines are required to submit a final departure manifest at least 60 minutes prior to departure. RuthlessBoss Posted August 13, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2015 If the price was to go down, it likely would be down now. As much as I love that ship, no way in Hell would I pay 600 pp for an inside.
YubaSutter Posted August 13, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2015 I thought you had to be on the manifest 72 hrs prior to sailing? I might be wrong but i recall reading that I don't know why people think it's 72 hours. It's 60 minutes. I have booked several Carnival cruises at 10 am of the morning of departure and been onboard at 2 pm.
CJinFLA00 Posted August 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 13, 2015 We booked less than 48 hrs prior to sailing last year on the Victory. Loved that spur of moment thing. The last minute deals seem to be dwindling.
