I'm sailing on the Breeze again in March! Thanks for reading. We were also booked on the 8/9 cruise as the first half of a B2B, but cancelled to give Ryan, and us, time at Universal. We woke up at 8am, and looking out our cabin window we could see that we were approaching the island of St. Maarten….. We got dressed and went outside on our “secret” deck to watch us sail in….. The St. Maarten Pilot Boat is approaching the Breeze to drop off the pilot….. The Disney Fantasy is already docked in St. Maarten….. This is a view looking towards Philipsburg, on the Dutch side of the island….. We are approaching the pier where the Carnival Breeze will be docking….. To be continued….. Dumbo is hanging off the stern of the Disney Fantasy….. We are pulling into the pier….. Here is a good view of the Aqua Duck on the Disney Fantasy….. This is a view of the Disney Fantasy’s gangway….. The port security people have nice rides….. Here’s a view looking towards Philipsburg. The pier in the foreground is where you can catch a water taxi over to Philipsburg….. We are now docked. We are not in a hurry to leave the ship to avoid the initial rush. Our plan for the day is to take a taxi over to Orient Bay for some beach time, but for now, breakfast is the first order of business. We head up to the Blue Iguana for a breakfast burrito….. The rates were $60 for a half hour or $100 an hour. Ryan chose to ride for an hour. Here he is waiting for a wave runner to become available….. To be continued….. Ryan is off. See you in an hour…… While Ryan is out riding, we have Flavio bring us a menu and we order lunch…… To recap, one bucket of Coronas, two Coors Lights, a mudslide, a pina colada, Caesars salad, chicken tenders with fries, and a cheeseburger with fries, came out to $100 with tip. Patti was going to do a little shopping and picture taking, while Ryan and I found an outside bar and had a few drinks….. Patti took these shots of the area around the pier….. To be continued….. twoboysforme Posted September 15, 2015 #299 Share Posted September 15, 2015 There is one big negative with the location of Cucina del Capitano, and that is the Sports Court is located directly above it. While we were there, it sounded like an earthquake was happening above your head, and the chandelier was actually swaying a little. It was so loud that even the turned up music they were playing couldn’t hide it. I was told that they close the Sports Court during dinner hours, but that’s not fair to those that want to use it. They should have installed padding above Cucina del Capitano, then installed the Sports Court above it. Anyway, here are some Cucina del Capitano views….. To be continued…… I totally agree with you that they should have done something a little different with the sports court. We sailed the Breeze in 2013 and my sons loved that they could play basketball and soccer. Each night they would patiently wait till 10 when it reopened to go play soccer with their newfound friends.
