WendyJo Posted September 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2015 Our group is four adults and we will be there in May, 2016 from the Carnival Breeze. Some of us love to snorkel (have our own gear). Hammocks would be a must! Prefer lounger availability in a shaded area. No entry fee/low entry fee would be nice. None of us drink much so an all-inclusive would be a waste of money. Water toys not needed. Peaceful and quiet would be a big plus. A pool would be nice.
Schoifmom Posted September 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2015 We were in Coz last year and really enjoyed Paradise Beach. You can catch a taxi there. From there it is $3 to get it (they expect you to purchase at least $10 in food and drink ... that isn't hard). It is very clean. There are hammocks, loungers, umbrellas, etc. The pool is fantastic and gives you a break from the beach side (if you would need that). The atmosphere when I was there was very laid back. The staff was very attentive and made us feel pampered. There are the big inflatables, kayaks, etc available for use. If I remember correctly, it is $15 for that. Hope this helps. txt4 Posted September 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2015 Maybe try Chankanaab. It's not low $$$ (I think $19 with the online coupon) but it's really quiet and decent snorkeling, lifejackets are free. They have a few underwater statues to find. The only 'toy' is a floating platform for taking a breather. Plenty of loungers under the palm trees and a few hammocks. They also have a pool, extensive well maintained gardens and a Mayan exhbit/musuem covering a couple of acres. Drinks and food were reasonably priced. ($2 for a chilled soda bottle) Dolphins, manatees, snuba and sea lions were also available (for an extra fee).
