Princess Penguin Posted September 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2015 It has been a few years since I sailed Princess and I'm getting things confused with NCL and Celebrity. :confused:I know that Princess offers wine-tasting opportunities during some sea days but I can't remember if martini-tastings are also an option. We are booked on the Ruby Hawaiian Christmas cruise and it would be nice to have this as an option during sea days.
Working 2 Cruise Posted September 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) No martini tastings. That would be Celebrity. But, there's a happy hour, buy one martini, get another for $1. Of course, they would have to be the same. Edited September 13, 2015 by Working 2 Cruise
partybarbie Posted September 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2015 I've been to the martini tastings/demonstrations on Princess. On the Pacific Princess it was held in the Club bar. On the larger ships it's usually held in the atrium, on Deck 5. There's usually a "bar wars" out by the pool. If you volunteer to make a cocktail, you get to drink if afterwards. Yes, that's a martini demonstration, not what the OP wants...
partybarbie Posted September 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Yes, that's a martini demonstration, not what the OP wants... Really? I shook the martini and the waiter poured it out of the shaker into small plastic cups and then passed it out to the audience. Sounds to me like that was what the OP was asking.
WatchHill Posted September 14, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Princess does not have a real martini sample assortment like Celebrity does. The atrium demo isn't the same. Love the 6 mini martini flavors served on Celebrity - wish Princess would do something similar. But then, Princess doesn't have an iced martini bar surface either. Maybe on one of their future ships..... Darcy

terrysko2000 Posted September 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 14, 2015 They had one on the Norwegian Gem and also a beer tasting. They are a great way to try different drinks. We paid $15 to try 5 or 6 different ones. Lots of fun!
Princess Penguin Posted September 14, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Thanks for the update. I'm sure that we will find lots of other things to do on the sea days.

Princess has Martini demo's,but if you sit/stand close to the demo you may get chosen to taste them. Of course you can go on a Martini tasting of your own:) if your particular ship has Crooner's bar, I believe they have over 50+ types of Martini's. You can also order any drink in Crooner's and get the stuffed olives(a few kinds to choose from) as an appetizer-complimentary. Julie
KONA VILLAGE KID Posted September 14, 2015 #11 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Of course, a real Martini is just gin (originally) or vodka with a little dry vermouth, shaken or stirred. All the other drinks they call Martinis, aren't.
