Live tv on celebrity

If the games are on a station that the ship normally carries or can pull in, and depending on the itinerary, they might be on somewhere. You can check with the cruise director while onboard. NO guarantees.

If it is a European itinerary, I'd say chances are better. We have seen games while overseas on ships.

Plan to go on celebrity Equinox next June but DH has just realised that the dates clash with Euro 16. Is live tv available anywhere onboard.

On recent cruise, around the Mediterranean, they showed most of the Rugby World Cup fixtures that occurred during that time - but not all (the venues varied) :

Wales vs Fiji, France vs Canada, Italy vs Canada (were on Casino Bar TV & Molecular Bar TV) ;

Scotland vs USA, Sth Africa vs Samoa, England vs Wales (in Celebrity Central);

Argentina vs Georgia (on TV of Casino Bar).

They didn't show the Ireland match :(

There were sports channels available on the stateroom TV - I remember there was EuroSports and I think one of the Sky Sports ones (but of course it depends whether they have bought the rights to show major events).

So no guarantees.

You posted this same question on another board and received a lot of responses. In short, it's too early to tell IF Celebrity will show this, and it probably won't be in your cabin, but in the casino bar or the in the Gastropub. The only live TV seems to be news shows like CNN. They may have some version of Sky Sports and ESPN, but no one knows what will carry this event.

Celebrity have Sport24 and ESPN on your stateroom TV, I would expect that both these channels will have some Euro 16 live matches available,.

We just left the Equinox yesterday after 13 nights. The Gastropub on level 4 showed sports nearly non-stop. The rugby matches in the late afternoon and evenings were shown live, the early afternoon not. They were transmitted on ESPN2, and also available on the same channel in the staterooms.

With regard to sports channels, we could get ESPN and ESPN2, and Skysports News, but not Sky Sport 1, 2 etc.

The transmission for the live matches was ok, some interruptions when the rugby players were suddenly wearing American Football outfits. But after 15 min or so, the rugby was back.

I for one was very happy that we could see the matches, and the conversations at the Gastropub bar, while focussing on the sport, where all pleasant.
