gail8 Posted December 7, 2015 #26 Share Posted December 7, 2015 We just got off the Summit and had an aft 11 and wouldn't book it again. It was very loud all day and into the night and lots of soot on the balcony. The movies are loud and played 3 nights. Maybe it was just the crowd on this ship but they were out back until 2 or 3 in the morning screaming. We loved our sweet sixteen balcony...just saying Gail

DrivesLikeMario Posted December 7, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 7, 2015 The Aqua Class cabins are often much less than the Concierge Class category C1. In fact, on some of our upcoming Summit cruises, they're $200.00 LESS than what we're paying for CC. Many of the aft-facing cabins have been sold out for a long time, so if you're flexible in dates, check the availability first if you're set on an aft-facing cabin. We got one for our October cruise but had to book it well over a year in advance.
Classynfun1 Posted December 7, 2015 #29 Share Posted December 7, 2015 Has anyone stayed in cabin 6146 on the Summit? We are booked in that cabin in August. I have this cabin for our cruise this Saturday (12/12). Let me know if there is info you want that you cannot find online! I typically sail in RS cabins (though have gone AQ twice), so this is my first SS. I hear this is one of the best ones. I'll definitely let you know! Ed Just off the Summit #6146 on 12/5/15, Closet space is small for hanging clothes, tight but workable, good amount of drawer space in the cabin. K.T.B. Posted December 10, 2015 #33 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Also be aware of this: The deck 11 cabins do not have a covering on the balconies, so they get tons of sun. Deck 9 cabins are more shaded. For some it matter, for others not so much. :)

DaveandDiane Posted December 12, 2015 #38 Share Posted December 12, 2015 We didn't write a review. Got busy at work and life when we got home and never got it done. We love the Summit, and will be spending another two weeks on her in January...this time in concierge, then a week in May in Aqua. The staff on board is wonderful, and so friendly...you can almost always find them around Cafe Bacio in the evening and they seem to go out of their way to talk with passengers. We have had wonderful cruises not he bigger ships, but also enjoy the smaller ship and getting to know more people. We really enjoyed the elite lounge last time on board in Bermuda last summer. We got to know some fellow cruisers, and Ashley (CC hostess) was wonderful!

foxjim1 Posted December 17, 2015 #41 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Can anyone that has sailed the Summit recently confirm that there is no smoking allowed at the Sunset Bar. When we were on board in2014 smoking was allowed on the port side of this bar Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dodger1964 Posted December 17, 2015 #42 Share Posted December 17, 2015 No it is absolutely above the deck 11 AFT aqua cabins. The TV screen is already posted on the aft side of the rear smokestack. Currently this space is a giant open space with just deck chairs. It DID NOT take over the basketball court space. The TV is facing aft, the picture is taken standing at the aft railing on that deck. I personally doing things this will be such a big deal to the cabins, but there are lots of people who get worked up about chairs overhead and feet shuffling. Is that the actual movie screen in the link??? It doesn't look that big. The tv in my shed is about that size (at least the way it looks in that picture)

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My travel mates were in 1111 and they loved it. One thing I particularly remember is that my buddy really liked the fact that he went out of his room, down the stairs and there was coffee and bagels right there at the buffet. He brought it back up every morning. I don't recall there being any issue with the sun and they spent a lot of time on their balcony. We were in 1138 and loved it as well. No noise issues as others have reported and I even slept on deck a few times (because I liked the tropical air, not because DW made me!).

DrivesLikeMario Posted December 18, 2015 #47 Share Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) We had one of these cabins and had no issues with noise. Have one booked again for May. I'm also curious about RSWBADGER's comments. We have a Deck 7 aft-facing cabin booked also. I really don't like noise and if we can hear it 4 decks below, I'm going to be upset. Anyone have experience with the lower decks in aft-facing cabins? Edited December 18, 2015 by DrivesLikeMario
RSWBADGER Posted December 18, 2015 #48 Share Posted December 18, 2015 This is from another thread, the cabins on Deck 11 overlook the Sunset Bar, the outdoor deck area on Deck 12 overlooks Deck 11 cabins and the Sunset Bar. Cabin 9162 Noise can be an issue -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: Originally Posted by crosbystreet View Post Cruise Critic is always so useful. Noise however can be an issue if you attempt to go to bed before 11:00 PM. Several times the noise was so bad even turning our TV on did not drown out the noise. Made a complaint and was told noise would be reduced after 10, did not happen, in fact I think it was loudest the last 2 nights on the cruise. Really depends on the entertainer in the Sunset Bar, as 1 of them was extremely pleasant in volume always (Jonny Mantra), and I highly recommend his show if he is still aboard. The other entertainer I am certain had the guests flamenco dancing at one point and I thought the roof was going to collapse. If you stay out past 11PM not an issue as it was never loud past then. RSWBADGER Posted December 18, 2015 #49 Share Posted December 18, 2015 This is not the Summit, it is the Constellation but gives you a good idea of the Aft with the Sunset Bar on 10. We were in 6146 and only heard the Sunset Bar one night, depends on the wind direction.
Playa Cofi Posted December 19, 2015 #50 Share Posted December 19, 2015 Can anyone that has sailed the Summit recently confirm that there is no smoking allowed at the Sunset Bar. When we were on board in2014 smoking was allowed on the port side of this bar Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hi, I just got off the Summit. There is smoking on the port side of the Sunset Bar as well as outside on the port side of deck 4. That is the Casino and Martini Bar Deck. The only other smoking area is on deck 10, midship port side of the pool. This is a more comfortable area since it has comfy love-seats and chairs.
