Rare John&LaLa Posted November 13, 2015 #51 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I think they will figure out a way to effectively tender the oasis class. That would be cheaper than building new docks. And less environmental impact
novicetraveller Posted November 13, 2015 #52 Share Posted November 13, 2015 This is largely what I was going to say, but I probably would have said, there has to be more ports available that can take the ship as the 3 that will be in service next year will have them covered. I've heard, but have no personal experience or knowledge that some of the China cruises are mainly centered around gambling, so I wouldn't be totally surprised is a ship like that ends there, or RC starts building a specific Casino of the Seas. That maybe the case. Off topic slightly. Oasis class is designed for the Caribbean weather. So whilst it may be possible to base an Oasis class ship there, it may not be a long term thing, unless it is going to be warm / hot all year round. I can see more Quantum class ship being positioned in the Australasia locations / ports.
rolloman Posted November 14, 2015 #53 Share Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) While it is possible to build larger ships, I don't think the size inflation curve will continue as it has. It may be quite some time before a ship larger than Oasis is contemplated. If another cruise line wants to build a ship 6 inches longer than the Harmony of the Seas.....I see nothing stopping them. Big_G Posted November 14, 2015 #55 Share Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) I thought a runner was where people stand on the side of the ship ready to run passengers to port. :D Nah, runners are passengers who watch sail away from the pier. :D Edited November 14, 2015 by Big_G

novicetraveller Posted November 14, 2015 #58 Share Posted November 14, 2015 For Celebrity, we were discussing Royal I thought I thought Celebrity was part of the same big happy family. Maybe the point the poster of the link was making was that RCCL was focusing on building new class of ships on their other cruise lines that they own, which would make sense.
