minisuitegian Posted November 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) By saying nowhere, do you mean Dawn went out for a 2 day cruise with no ports o call? I've seen those advertised. Edited November 14, 2015 by minisuitegian
Rare kjquilts Posted November 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2015 She is finishing up a 2 night cruise to nowhere. She starts her regular fall/winter Caribbean schedule from New Orleans tomorrow. We were on the 14 night repo cruise bringing her from Boston to New Orleans. Had a great cruise and enjoyed meeting some of the cruise critic members on board.

We were planning on taking the trolly to the FQ- but open to other ideas! We won't be getting to NOLA until Sunday morning, so we will go directly to the port. Our son lived in NOLA for a while, so we aren't doing any sightseeing before the cruise.
Rare kjquilts Posted November 15, 2015 #12 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Do you have a review or any recommendations? We will be sailing on her out of NOLA on the 22nd. Can't wait! We loved the 14 night repo cruise. We've been on sister ship Star three or four times so were familiar with the ship setup. It was our first cruise over 8 nights and we loved having the extra time. We booked our cruise before any perks were provided for an excellent price. We purchased the soda package and had no trouble getting served whether it was at a bar or dinner. They would just glance at our room card to see we had the package. Pre purchased three night specialty dining package and ate at Cagneys, Teppanyaki and La Cucina. Loved Teppanyaki, our cook was entertaining and the food was very good. Our ribeyes at Cagneys were very fatty. Rest of the meal was ok. Larry and I are both platinum and had both our platinum dinners at LeBistro. The tenderloin was excellent and we were very happy with both our meals there. The chocolate fondue for two for desert was good as was the creme brûlée. Ate at Bamboo (included Asian restaurant) twice and were happy with both meals. Their calamari appetizer is really good. Our other dinners we ate at either of the two dining rooms or the garden cafe. We had no problem finding something good to eat. Internet was slow and spotty. I was glad I purchased unlimited plan. We loved Jose and Patti. They sang several nights in the atrium and had a couple shows in the Stardust. Hint for atrium shows - if you can't get a seat go upstairs and sit in internet lounge. mickev99 Posted November 15, 2015 #14 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Thanks for the tips! We are a little over a month away from our cruise. Do you remember if Bamboo was open for lunch, or just dinner? Thanks!

You may be able to get your questions answered there about what to do. We are arriving Saturday, but don't plan to do anything on Sunday but sleep in late and then head to the ship around noon.
