dasi11 Posted November 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2015 STAY AWAY! Take a regular taxi! We purchased tickets to take the water ferry or water taxi.. whatever it is called at 1:50. We got on the boat just outside the pier and waited... We were told it would leave in 20 minutes and goes every half hour. So there we sat from just before 2 until after 3pm. At that point we finally all started demanding refunds and all wanted off the boat since it was clear he was not leaving until he filled the boat!!! There were 2 locals, both having car problems begging him to leave since they were late for work and due there at 3 pm. They arrived at 3:30pm... This guy would not refund tickets and did not care! He just kept wondering away and said we would leave in a minute... from 2:20- until 3 when he finally bowed to the pressure and left the dock to ferry us to the boat area at the Atlantis. There were about 16 of us on the boat but that was not worth the trip to him....He cursed us... but took us. When we did finally arrive at the Atlantis, it is still a 10+ minute walk to the hotel from where the boat leaves you off... We were lucky that the 2 local girls were available to walk us all since it was not clear or marked well which way to go... we would have figured it out but it is not easy. I would not recommend this way of going to or from the Atlantis!!!! Just want to warn others... Especially since you might make the mistake of waiting until it is too late to head back to the ship. This boat operator DOES NOT CARE and would only laugh at you if you missed the ship!
cruiseapril Posted November 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2015 Interesting report. We found the ferry too crowded, so take the taxi now.
sprockie Posted November 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2015 ...and the lineups at the pier for customs to get back to the ships can be very long. The ship won't wait - even if you're in the lineup.

We took a taxi back, and threw away out return tickets for the boat.
