jusmadmema Posted November 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2015 do all of the Celebrity ships have the same menu for the MDR? Just finished reading a post that posted the 14 day menu for Equinox and now wondering if that same rotation will be on the Eclipse. Thanks for any info
TommyD3 Posted November 24, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2015 do all of the Celebrity ships have the same menu for the MDR? Just finished reading a post that posted the 14 day menu for Equinox and now wondering if that same rotation will be on the Eclipse. Thanks for any info There is one set of 14 menus that they work from. The order does normally vary from ship to ship and cruise to cruise. Also sometimes they will tweak an item or two. For example the menu with turkey, veal cordon blu and steak diane was served a couple of nights ago on the Eclipse w/o the turkey. The first night menu (prime rib) is always on the first night on every ship.
cb at sea Posted November 24, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2015 The rotation may vary...but the menus are the same for all the ships.
jusmadmema Posted November 24, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Thanks for the quick reply. Have never had a bad meal on a Celebrity ship in any case - now I have an idea of what to expect.
az_tchr Posted November 24, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) Celebrity has been adding a local dish here and there in the MDR. Do agree the 14 day rotation is pretty similar with a night switched here and there. No idea why. Edited November 24, 2015 by az_tchr
Adidas4fun Posted November 24, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 24, 2015 I have it on somewhat good authority that the MDR menu is the same on all ships throughtout the fleet each and every night of the year. The rotation is planned and only varied on a ship by ship basis where stock levels of previously ordered items differs from that expected.
cle-guy Posted November 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2015 If you read the very tiny print on bottom of menus, you will see the night number printed there as part of the document name, 1, 2, 3, 4 ....14 etc. You will also see the date of the menus from Summer of 2013 when they were last updated. The night number changes only to fit formal night -- that is night 3 menu may have lobster, but if formal night is night 2, night 3 will serve on night 2 and night 2 will serve on night 3. Actually they no longer follow the order of the numbers on the menus. We were on the Infinity 10 night pre drydock followed by the 7 night post dry dock cruises last month. Virtually every night (other than the first night) was a different menu than the number would indicate. They were also different between the two cruises. DYKWIA Posted November 24, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Eclipse runs with additional every day items when it sails from Southampton - Fish and Chips, Chicken Tikka Massala and Irish Stew. Also, menus have recently been scrunched from 4 courses to three (same items but listed over 3 courses instead of 4)
TeaBag Posted November 24, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 24, 2015 So, the fish and chips in the MDR are only on Eclipse sailings from Southampton? I was hoping this was a change for all ships. Yes, I saw the Irish Stew too and wondered. Didn't have it.
