sp29488 Posted December 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2015 We want to try this on our cruise but not sure which night. Can we make a reservation while onboard or will they be booked up? Thanks

Jenhem31 Posted December 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 3, 2015 If you don't already know, on Breeze it's open for lunch. We go embarkation day for the pasta bar and it's always empty.

evandbob Posted December 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2015 On the Magic, we made our reservation after we boarded. We showed up 7 minutes early and were seated at the exact time of our reservation, even though it was less than half full. Ah, but individual tastes are so subjective. My take on the Magic's Cucina was that the appetizers were better than the entree. I had a tomato based sauce on my pasta dish/chicken parm which was very sweet and had a ketchuppy consistency. The chicken was like a piece of cardboard. I commented at the time that if the Cucina opened as a restaurant in New York City it wouldn't last very long. Of course, I'm Italian, born and raised in the Bronx, so I'm a bit particular when it comes to Italian cuisine. I have memories of my Grandmother making her own pasta and pizza dough from scratch. I'll just stick to paying for a great meal on board in the Steakhouses.
CruisingwithAutism Posted December 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2015 Just to clarify-the complimentary pasta bar for lunch is not even close to Cucina's menu. Cucina is well worth the surcharge and the ambiance & service are fab. Same with Jiji's!
