My daughters only went with us the first day. they wanted pool time and thought it took too long to get served. hubby and I went ourselves and met a lot of very nice people. YubaSutter Posted December 10, 2015 #54 Share Posted December 10, 2015 This was a definite hit from our recent trip. REALLY enjoyed Sea Day Brunch. I thought it was one of the best meals I've had on any cruise line in recent years and I thought Carnival did a great job. We went in the morning and it wasn't busy at all; which makes we wonder how many really take advantage of this? I hope Carnival continues it, it was really nice! If you think the sea day brunch is great, you should try the chef's table. Awesome.
MisterFidgetpants Posted December 10, 2015 Author #55 Share Posted December 10, 2015 If you think the sea day brunch is great, you should try the chef's table. Awesome. I did a Chef's Table on a different line. It was interesting and unique, but not an experience or cost I am rushing to go through again. Perhaps I just don't appreciate some of the more unique foods, or I just have a big appetite for heartier foods. I haven't done Carnivals version. Maybe I should have said for a non-specialty, non-extra cost meal I was very impressed by Seaday Brunch; not only in the amount of offerings but the quality and presentation. I've now been on over 20 cruises and usually find MDR food I like. I've been to a number of specialty restaurants and while I have enjoyed them all, sometimes it is more for the special atmosphere as I don't find the food significantly better with regards to the additional cost. Once it gets to be more than $25pp the value gets all out of whack for me.
LaCal Posted December 10, 2015 #56 Share Posted December 10, 2015 I can't believe we"ve never tried the Seaday brunch 😳. I think mainly because we stay up very late in the casino or shows and then still wake up early round 7am and normally would go have a omelette made at the buffet But that's gonna change on our upcoming cruise....Seaday Brunch here we come 😜😜

djyellowsub Posted December 10, 2015 #59 Share Posted December 10, 2015 It's worth going just for the basket of pastries. I could eat just that and be totally satisfied. Definitely get the sauce on the side for the eggs benedict. They are much better that way.
ccruisequeen Posted December 10, 2015 #60 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Starts too late. So, have a snack on the lido deck, then go to brunch. tandemcruzr Posted December 10, 2015 #61 Share Posted December 10, 2015 The coupon for platinums and diamonds is for the brunch only. They set up a bar outside the doors of the dinning room so you can get the drink without going to the brunch. Not all ships have a bar set up outside the dining room. Viesczy Posted December 10, 2015 #62 Share Posted December 10, 2015 We typically fall into our cruise schedule of 'UP' early on port days and then up LATE on sea days where it 10.30 and we still have bed head, so we've never attempted to make it. On our cruise it was open seating from 8:30AM - 1:00PM. You can definitely roll out late and make it! Worth trying, IMO.
cruising maniac Posted December 10, 2015 #64 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Love the mac and cheese with steak. The steak is really pot roast but is delicious. My DH really likes the salmon. We go ever sea day. Nice variety from the inedible powdered eggs on the Lido deck.
Mary Ellen1 Posted December 10, 2015 #65 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Love the Sea Day Brunch, and wouldn't miss it. :D Love the timing -- Dining Room breakfast till 1pm. I'm in! Love the food -- go early for the pastry basket; go a little later for popovers. Love the menu itself ("Hey Pork Chop" anyone??? "Go Big or Go Home" steak & eggs???). If you haven't tried it yet, I think you're really missing something! :)

ElusiveCeo Posted December 11, 2015 #68 Share Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) the best part of it was the bread basket - dessert & "real" orange juice. The fruit loops french toast seemed to be pre-packaged as the fruit loops were stale. The huevos rancheros are better upstairs at blue iguana cantina, mac n cheese was "ok" the chicken tenders inside of it were not good. mykindaparty Posted December 11, 2015 #70 Share Posted December 11, 2015 We always go and get steak and eggs and fresh pineapple juice. We asked if we could get the juice anywhere else as its our favorite and comes free in Mdr and was told the atrium bar has it but it cost 4.95 a glass. So we started bringing out large tumbler and filling it up before we leave the Mdr. [emoji12]

MaiTaiMary Posted December 27, 2015 #75 Share Posted December 27, 2015 We went on the Miracle a year ago. It was fine. Not bad, but nothing really special about it. Not really sure what the fuss is all about. It's just brunch (?)
