Chewybub Posted December 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2015 Does Carnival still give out lanyards to their guests? I've read where you can get them for free from the casino. Is this still true?
firemanbobswife Posted December 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2015 Yes the plastic ones that look like old phone cords are still free at the casino. On Glory last week holes were already punched in our cards when we received them. Yippee!
JohnSpo Posted December 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2015 The better quality are for sale in the Fun Shops. If I remember correctly the cost is $6.95.
notyours75 Posted December 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2015 Is there anyplace you can buy them ahead of time? I see people with the nice Carnival lanyards that we'd like to have a pair of. A quick search of ebay just showed some crappy cheap ones. TIA.
silvercrikhix Posted December 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2015 We put ours on carabiner clips & clip to a belt loop & put in pocket! I also clip it inside my day port bag or inside a purse or tote! I hate stuff around my neck and it works great for us with clips.

Yippee! yes we noticed at Thanksgiving on the Sunshine that are sail and sign cards already had holes punched in them. also when we went to the casino there were several crew members handing out the cords. Was very quick process. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

We have some from Busch Gardens, and various ones I got locally. My mom has a few from Walmart. None of them say Carnival. As soon as you're in International waters, the shops open up and you can get your Carnival ones if you like.
Lakesregion Posted December 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2015 In a time in History when blending in rather than standing out is the byword, wearing a lanyard round ones neck when one steps off a ship anywhere in the world is like asking for trouble in my opinion. I'm really not that worried about it. We tuck them under our shirts and you can't even see them. If we get in the water, they go in the back pack and someone stays with it. I don't bring a purse on a cruise and my outfits don't have pockets all the time so what would you rather have me do - wear it around my neck or put it in my bra?! Not a whole lot of options without pockets, my friend. And no I will NOT wear a fanny pack!!!
srlafleur Posted December 14, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) In a time in History when blending in rather than standing out is the byword, wearing a lanyard round ones neck when one steps off a ship anywhere in the world is like asking for trouble in my opinion. Both hubby and I put our cards on a lanyards (the cheap casino type), but we never wear them ashore. Pretty sure we stand out as tourists anyway, but off the ship, they go into a pocket or bag. The lanyard just makes it easier to lay hands on them easily. On the ship, I wore mine as a bracelet wrapped a few times around my wrist when I needed to (no pockets or bag), or, on formal nights, just let hubby carry his and left mine in the room, since we would be together anyway. I wear mine on a lanyard now too. My husband always has pockets and I don't. I used to ask him to carry mine for me, but we would get separated, or I would forget he had it and it just got to be a pain. I don't always have outfits with pockets so this just works for me. I like you, never wear mine in port. Once off the ship it goes in my bag. But, you don't need a lanyard to make yourself look like a tourist. Generally the majority of the people who step off a ship look like one without even trying!
