Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted December 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2015 When we go to our carnival.com page, and go to manage our booking, where do we find where we can choose the time to check in? Do we have to start the online check process or is there a certain area we click and get it?
mainepaddler Posted December 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Start the online check in and it will be in the menu on the left. Once you fill it out it will show on your booking where your dining and bedding choices show. You don't have to fill out any of the rest of the online check in in order to select your boarding time. winddawn Posted December 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Make sure your embarkation port has implemented the new staggered embarkation times. It doesn't apply to all embarkation ports yet. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3180/~/staggered-check-in-faqs https://help.carnival.com/ci/fattach/get/71523/1450792208/redirect/1/filename/Embarkation%20Check-In%20Times.pdf Edited December 29, 2015 by winddawn

winddawn Posted December 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Thank you, its not rolled out yet out of Pt. Canaveral, I keep a watch on it, Happy New Year. I was thinking Magic would be in Port Canaveral on April 30th, but I wasn't sure if maybe you had another cruise booked out of NOLA or Galveston. And who knows when Carnival will expand it to other embarkation ports?? No doubt some of us will be impacted by Carnival announcements made for other ports after we've already booked! Best wishes for a smooth embarkation in Port Canaveral. They seem to be highly rated for their embarkation process.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted December 29, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Thank you and yes its a wonderful port....love Jacksonville also because there is only one ship and Ft. Lauderdale is wonderful because the port is right next to the airport and hotels are abundant, its my third favorite port.
winddawn Posted December 29, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Thank you and yes its a wonderful port....love Jacksonville also because there is only one ship and Ft. Lauderdale is wonderful because the port is right next to the airport and hotels are abundant, its my third favorite port. It's been a while since I've cruised from Port Canaveral. I like that port too. I enjoyed staying at Radisson Resort at the Port before cruising out of PC. And embarkation was smooth and seamless. And Jacksonville is another good port. I really like the Jacksonville airport. It's easy to navigate in and has some interesting shops and places to eat. And its a short direct flight from where I live. I love the Fort Lauderdale area as far as spending time there before my cruise, but I have to say the last couple of times I cruised from there, embarkation was an absolute mess. I stayed in a hotel really close to the port (Hilton FL Marina), so I took a taxi over from there, but they held us outside waiting to get out of taxis for a very long time. It cost me a fortune for a very short cab ride because of that. And it seemed there was a lot of construction and it was just really a mess. I doubt I'll cruise out of Fort Lauderdale again soon. Best wishes for a great cruise, Lynda! I cruised on Magic this month and had a really good time. Their casino was pretty good to me. ;-)
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted December 30, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted December 30, 2015 Windblown hello and thank you.....thats great about the casino, sure made your last evening a fun one for sure. We also stay at the Hilton Marina when we use Port Everglades, but that is horrible how your cab ride added up on that wait, we never had that wait but then again we always leave early around 10:30 to the port and never had any issues YET.

AHS123 Posted January 2, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 2, 2016 I'm thrilled Carnival allows us to choose our arrival time now. Thanks for asking the question OP, this is wonderful news, Carnival should have done this years ago!
JABrown104 Posted January 2, 2016 #14 Share Posted January 2, 2016 you should get an email when it starts on your ship. I had already done the online check in, and went back in and selected for the staggered times.
Rare sparks1093 Posted January 2, 2016 #15 Share Posted January 2, 2016 In a semi-related question when does FTTF become available? I know that I am still a long way from sailing but do want to make sure we take advantage of this as soon as it becomes available.
rainbowflag Posted January 2, 2016 #16 Share Posted January 2, 2016 We made our check in selection time just fine on the site, so simple and we look forward to this change at the pier.

E&B Posted January 2, 2016 #19 Share Posted January 2, 2016 Thank you. Can you purchase it on line or do you have to call to purchase it? If it's available, it will be listed as an excursion under your departure port. You can purchase it online there.

audcc77 Posted January 4, 2016 #22 Share Posted January 4, 2016 We are on the Fantasy next week and I have printed the paperwork and it states to arrive at 12:30 even though I have FTTF. I was never given the option of choosing a time to embark b/c this staggered check-in has not come to Charleston yet. We've arrived by 11 in the past & never had a problem. My hotel says I have to check out by 11. We're not doing the park & cruise b/c I want to go by taxi. Does anyone know what time I should have the taxi drop us off? Thanks. Even on ports where arrival times are not enforced Carnival is trying to get people to stagger arrival times. Since you have FTTF you can arrive earlier than your stated time. 11-11:30 has always worked well for us. We leave just a little before the hotel kicks us out (want to beat the front desk rush) and arrive at port whatever time later it takes to taxi there. Any earlier than 10:30 puts you in the middle of the departing passengers and the check in terminal may not be open. Long Beach is the worst for that. Miami seems to have it pretty well under control. Tampa has a small port area so arriving early can be a real hassle.
