wrigley80 Posted January 5, 2016 Author #176 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Now it was Dana's turn to try Pedro on Two of my favorite people....Sam and Dana Sam and I decided to smoke a cigar in honor of my dad. My dad loved to light up a cigar when he was mowing the yard and working outside in the yard. It was just another way to pay tribute to my dad
wrigley80 Posted January 5, 2016 Author #177 Share Posted January 5, 2016 So after a few drinks on Lido and our cigar we all decided to head down to the dining room. Most of us in the KREWE had anytime dining so there were many nights when we all ate together. Tonight we had a table for 14 people. When we got down to deck 8 I decided to head back to the room to check on Josh to see if he wanted to join us for dinner....yeah that was a big NO. He was still sound asleep Linda was dressing Pedro in the dining room. Now I know what some of you may be thinking....I wore my chicken hat in the dining room. Yes I did....every night even formal night and no one ever said anything. And it's safe to say that me wearing a hat in the MDR didn't affect anyone else's dining experience Some of our KREWE at dinner....Sam, Aunt Barb, and Uncle Larry on the left. Mary and Richard on the right
wrigley80 Posted January 5, 2016 Author #178 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us! I don't post much on here but whenever i see you have done another cruise i'm so excited to see what fun adventures you get into :) You are such an inspiration to live life and enjoy the time you have. I'm truly a big fan of your posts! Many blessings to you! Thank you. You're so right...live life to the fullest now because you are never guaranteed tomorrow. After my dad passed away my mom may have said it best that my dad did and saw a lot in 58 years. A lot of it was with my mom and I by his side. I've really bought into that now. I'm gonna go now with my friends while I am still young because I'm at the age where I still want to have fun and meet people.
wrigley80 Posted January 5, 2016 Author #179 Share Posted January 5, 2016 So after we ordered dinner...I noticed the Junior Hostess who was seating fellow passengers. I knew she looked familiar so I asked her to come over to our table. I remembered her from a cruise that my dad and I were on together. We met Jerminka on the Carnival Imagination in December 2013. Once she got over to the table she recognized me by name. She asked where my dad was so I had to explain to her what happened....she was so sweet. My dad really liked her on the Imagination because she was so nice. She gave me a big hug. It was so nice to see her again Me and Jerminka. She was from Romania Cream of Broccoli soup The first night I ordered the Flat Iron Steak as a tribute to my dad. That was usually the only thing that he ever ordered in the MDR Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert
wrigley80 Posted January 5, 2016 Author #180 Share Posted January 5, 2016 My two very best friends...Laura and Dana Apparently Dana was trying to cop a feel......hahahaha After dinner we all headed down to the Atrium Bar for a drink....or two....or six. I still had a few drinks to go on my Cheers package for the day
wrigley80 Posted January 5, 2016 Author #181 Share Posted January 5, 2016 So once I hit #15 on the Cheers package I decided to head back to the cabin around 12:00 am. When I got back to the cabin I saw that Josh was awake so that was a good thing. When he saw me he said he was ready to head to dinner.....hahahaha. I told him that he was about 6 hours too late...he couldn't believe that he slept through dinner. So he decided to order room service. The Carnival Elation has the new room service menu options with pay options....we ordered the chicken quesadilla and the chicken wings. The quesadilla was good....the chicken wings were a little too spicy for me. So that concludes day #1 onboard the Carnival Elation....if day 1 was any indication how the rest of the cruise was going to go I knew that we were going to have a good time and I was happy to be onboard with my friends and KREWE family

wrigley80 Posted January 6, 2016 Author #192 Share Posted January 6, 2016 I'm back. I am at work and I have done way too much work related stuff this morning/afternoon so enough of that....it's time for some more review :) So day #2 of the cruise was a Fun Day at Sea. Now anyone who is familiar with my reviews will know that I LOVE sea days. I wish I could do a 7-day cruise to nowhere. So our day at sea started with a stop at the Atrium Bar for my drink of choice in the morning....The Cruiser. Josh, Stu, and I then headed to the Sea Day Brunch in the Imagination dining room. Our two favorite bartenders....Mignon and Anna Maria. Anyone who will be cruising on the Elation before March be sure to look for these two....they are AMAZING
Robfromcharlottesville Posted January 6, 2016 #193 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Thanks for the great reviews! On which deck is the Atrium Bar located? I'll be staying on the Empress Deck. it looks like that might be where the Atrium Bar is located from Carnival's deck plans but I couldn't tell for sure. Thanks! wrigley80 Posted January 6, 2016 Author #194 Share Posted January 6, 2016 After brunch we headed back down to the atrium bar....are you starting to see a trend here ;) :p Now one thing that I am normally put in charge of with the KREWE is planning our meet and greet. This cruise was no different. I contacted Carnival about a week before with our final numbers of how many people would be attending. I requested to have bar/lounge on Sea Day #1 at approximately 2:00 pm. Once I got onboard I had to go to Guest Services to confirm time and location. We had our meet and greet in the Romeo and Juliet Lounge and I was asked if a time of 1:00-2:00 pm would be OK. I told them yes that would be perfect. Now at our meet and greet we also had a shot glass exchange....where everyone would be coming would bring a shot glass from their hometown/state or their favorite team. This is always a fun idea to see what everyone will bring. We also had a cash bar open for anyone who wanted to have a drink during our meet and greet. Carnival had 2 bartenders and 2 bar waiters who came around to the tables taking drink orders. This worked out great. I was actually nervous about our meet and greet and after I did all the planning I didn't want to go because I knew this was going to very tough to be there without my dad. My friends told me that I needed to come

Aelsantokie Posted January 6, 2016 #198 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Brianna, I seriously had thought about booking this cruise when you posted your last review to try out my first solo cruise. I have been playing around with the idea of a solo cruise for quite awhile now. Everytime I read gapearls reviews I want to do it, except I only have 1/3 of the energy that girl has! I posted on your Facebook when your dad passed, but wanted to send my condolences but wanted to send my sympathies via cruise critic post. I've also been thinking a lot about you guys since (I hope this doesn't come across totally creepy, but you will see why at the end of my post).:o:o I love/loved reading your reviews of the cruises you took with your dad. What a special relationship you guys have. My mother and I bonded a lot during our cruises together as well. It lets you get away from the everyday mundane and enjoy each others company, doesn't it? I was newly mourning the sudden loss of my mom when your dad passed, so I felt so much more raw emotion connected to your pain. I look forward to the rest of your reviews. wrigley80 Posted January 6, 2016 Author #199 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Me and Linda Dana, Sam, and Me Alana brought a bottle of Cristal to the meet and greet so we popped that open and everyone had a glass. Great, thanks so much, that sounds really convenient (and perhaps a little dangerous!) I read somewhere that Elation is no longer offering lobster on the formal night regular menu. Is that true? (I'm really hoping it's not!)
