maeormaenot Posted January 3, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 3, 2016 Great ones...all of them... 999. First sight of the ship. 1000. Walking the long gangway...and making the big step onto the boat. 1001. Taking cruise virgins and seeing their "first time" almost let's you experience the wonder again. 1002. Hearing the ding dong signifying the CD is about to make the first announcement. 1003. And my favorite... Hearing those lido deck songs..n to the left to tha left...let's me know the fun has begun! maeormaenot Posted January 3, 2016 #27 Share Posted January 3, 2016 Where is that horn located? I'd rather not start my cruise with a heart attack as the dickens is exploding from my body. :) I think it is located on the whale tale...looks like a big megaphone. We were dealing with fog one year and it was going off all the time. We learned to avoind the area.
KPfromCT Posted January 3, 2016 #28 Share Posted January 3, 2016 Getting far enough from land to see the change in the ocean color to the beautiful deep navy blue.Having a balcony room on the Lido Deck (so convenient) Letting the ship rock me to sleep. Babycat Posted January 3, 2016 Author #29 Share Posted January 3, 2016 Looking for photos in the gallery is a good one. Discovering that it was actually a good photo is great too. I also like to see other peoples funny faces when they sometimes take those joke photos.
Babycat Posted January 3, 2016 Author #30 Share Posted January 3, 2016 I had almost forgotten about the crossing of the threshold between the indoor buffet area to an outdoor area while feeling the temperature change with a strong gust of wind while trying not to slip and fall on the wet floor. Boozebabe Posted January 4, 2016 #32 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Approaching our cabin after lunch and seeing our luggage had arrived. Meeting the cabin steward for the first time. My first DOD
simplelife Posted January 4, 2016 #33 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Holding your S & S card for the first time. Coming into your cabin each night and seeing the Fun Times for the next day and whether the steward left a towel animal. Having used towels magically disappear and clean towels appear. Valor2005 Posted January 4, 2016 #36 Share Posted January 4, 2016 The sight of your spouse/partner when they've finished dressing up and are ready to step out on elegant night. The sight of the covers turned down and the soft lighting when you return to your cabin for the night. Ahhh. The gentle motion of the ship as it rocks you to sleep at night. christyran1228 Posted January 4, 2016 #37 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Watching the ship's wake unroll like a turquoise ribbon across the cobalt of the ocean!! A great picture of this that we took off the back of the Valor is my desktop background pic at work. 😊 Only 40ish more days until I can take a new one.....*sigh*
christyran1228 Posted January 4, 2016 #38 Share Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Taking that security photo right before they let you on board, when all you really feel like doing is cartwheels right into the atrium. 😆 Okay, maybe that's just me ... 😶lol Edited January 4, 2016 by christyran1228
beachbum53 Posted January 4, 2016 #39 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Two more to add: Wanting pizza at midnight, and NOT having to call the pizza place and wait thirty minutes before you get it. :) Being lucky to find an empty place on the Serenity deck (rare, but it happens). hlb76 Posted January 4, 2016 #40 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Mine are..... First glimpse of the ship. - still get goosebumps First Ding to get on the ship. First glimpse of the atrium. Watching everyone's face as the board. Smell of Guys burger. Nothing but the sea as far as you can see. The wake at night. I could sit and watch and listen for hours. The gentle rock to sleep each night.

lisajm Posted January 4, 2016 #49 Share Posted January 4, 2016 I like the anticipation of boarding the ship, chatting with shipmates in the lobby while watching the previous passengers exit and knowing that soon I will be able to board. The very first "ding" of my S&S card gives me chills. I love exploring the ship for the first time. Waking up in a new port. Putting on finery for elegant night. Walking into the cabin then straight to the balcony!
