UpcountryTravelers Posted January 9, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) We enjoyed the pub lunch the first couple of times it was offered. (Maybe on the Sapphire Princess??) After that, it went downhill so fast that we don't even consider it any more. It in NO way resembles what you might find in the UK. blkspy Posted January 9, 2016 #27 Share Posted January 9, 2016 I think the offerings including days have gotten better over the years and you can order as much as you want. At least on all our cruises. What selections have gone away? Shepards Pie......for one.......of course you can order as much as you'd like.....I was referring to fish size......Maybe I've just gotten larger and everything looks smaller :D. Pub lunch was something to look forward to on 'Sea Days'.....poster just stated no pub lunch on a 13 Day cruise...or did I read it wrong.... Regardless........The bottom line remains the same......If its offered on your Princess cruise, it is worth a try and order as much as you wish--its still Free
trabeler Posted January 9, 2016 #28 Share Posted January 9, 2016 We were very disappointed that there was NO Pub Lunch during our 13 night cruise on the Golden Princess over Christmas and New Year :( Same for our 13 night Christmas/New Years sailing on the Diamond. There were six sea days and no pub lunch. They did have an "Aussie Pub Hour" on the last sea day in Club Fusion with a few trays of hot snacks (chicken wings, meat pies, etc). None of the food was particularly good. The event was combined with a bar demonstration of special cocktails.

GUT2407 Posted January 9, 2016 #30 Share Posted January 9, 2016 On the Diamond Princess last October the pub lunch was served in one of the any time dining restaurants on the second sea day We had three or four over 5 weeks on Diamond, in Vivaldi's. Fish and chips waqs very good, Steak and Kidney Pie was a bit variable, they needed to be told to fill the steak and kid.
Aus Traveller Posted January 9, 2016 #31 Share Posted January 9, 2016 We had three or four over 5 weeks on Diamond, in Vivaldi's. Fish and chips waqs very good, Steak and Kidney Pie was a bit variable, they needed to be told to fill the steak and kid. We had the pub lunch a couple of times on the Diamond early last year and it was good. Later in the year we went to the pub lunch on the Dawn Princess and it was bad.:( When we entered the dining room we were surprised to see only a dozen or so people there. When we were on the Grand a couple of years ago there would be a queue to get in. On the Dawn, we soon saw why there were so few people. The food wasn't good and the service was worse. The waiters were talking to each other and didn't seem interested in waiting on the tables. We had to ask if dessert was available and a parfait was brought - no choice. There is no way we would have gone back and spent an hour of our day there. (Sorry to gripe). :) Maybe we will try the pub lunch again on our next ship.
