MHS4 Posted October 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2005 This is the lowest deck on this ship. How is it regarding engine noise, throb, etc.? Any area or cabins that should be avoided on this deck? The Alternative is C on the Emeral deck -- the deck plans show the rowboats along this deck -- but do not indicate that the view is limited. Any input on that group of cabins? This is for an April Panama Canal trip. Thanks for any info.
AZPam Posted October 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2005 We have stayed in cabins on the Plaza deck on the Sea, Ocean, Star and Grand Princess. We have been on the Emerald deck on the Diamond and soon to be on the Golden. Have NEVER had a problem with engine noise or anything of the sort. We like the lower decks since you are so close the dining rooms, theaters, casino and that sort of thing. Only have to go up for the buffet and pools. Easy getting on and off to as you don't have to wait for elevators!
sandikai Posted October 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2005 We were on the Plaza deck last January, under Snooker's bar and could hear them sliding chairs around for cleaning every night after the people had cleared out. I had to wear ear plugs. I would avoid being under anything like the bars or the pool deck area where they will be sliding chairs and cleaning during the night
chrysalis Posted October 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2005 the biggest problem with cabins on the Emerald deck is that they also use the cabins to store the oars for those "rowboats"...you have to be careful not to trip on them during the night if you have to get up..... Colo Cruiser Posted October 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2005 Most of the cabins on Emerald are obstructed, but there are some that are not so be careful what you pick. :)
West Coast Posted October 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2005 I love the plaza deck - especially the way the cabins are set-up, design/floor-plan wise. Plus, it's so great to be so close to the patisserie, the dining room and a cocktail bar - to me, that's the perfect trifecta!
dsgreen5 Posted March 30, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 30, 2010 Did you experience any issue with smoke from the casino?

We will be on the Plaza deck on the Sapphire...are the cabins set up different on the Sapphire too? In what ways are they different? Thanks

Thanks Don't the OCV cabins on Plaza have the beds under the windows? That's the only thing I can think of that makes them different. . .
