TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #154 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Juan? I think. I gotta admit... my dietary experiment tonight may not have been the best of ideas. So I'm taking my medicine like a man. This was Guinness #1. I'm now on #3, and it's kicking in... feeling much better! Juan just started playing Sweet Caroline. Crowd going strong. Wifi behaving. Life is good? Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #155 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Gotta walk the girl home. If I haven't mentioned previously, it's about a 1 minute commute from home to home. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #156 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Stranger danger at home #2. And... choc-a-leeeets! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #157 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Back home - the other one. My parents and sister/brother-in-law remain. Juan finishing up with Friends in Low Places and Great Balls of Fire. Ugly lights on at 12:56am, technically 1:56am with the hour jump tonight. I may go explore the ship to see if anything is still alive at this hour... Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #158 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Deck 8 is completely deserted... Nobody other than a couple bartenders closing shop at Tobacco Road. Sounds like Headliners is still going kicking below... Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #159 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Skyline Bar is where it's at... still 120+ people, club atmosphere mostly 20-30-somethings. The surrounding casino still has a lot of activity... about a dozen table games and scattered slot machine players. kneught77 Posted February 1, 2016 #160 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Loving this review! Thank you for live reviewing, love your style and humor. Is the Brewhouse on the UBP. I thought I read somewhere they were taking it out of the program. Its included... great selection... I haven't heard anything about excluding it. But never say never! ;)
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #161 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Actually quite beautiful outside on deck 7... It's 5:24 somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #162 Share Posted February 1, 2016 O'SheWhos has about 40 or 50 people. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #163 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Deck 6 is dead. Scenic loop on big screen... not a single guest. Apparently deck 7 is the strategic late-night crowd control. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #164 Share Posted February 1, 2016 We are sailing at the end of March, great review! Can you discuss more about the motion? Is it constant, intermittent? Thanks! I now have a mixed opinion about the motion. Day 1, even while departing the port of Miami, the ship seemed oddly unstable (in closed waters - stabilizers not in use?). Today I had some motion struggles in the morning, but I blame most of that on staring down at a stalled progress meter on my phone while trying to upload photos. For the rest of the day, it felt like cruising as normal. So I guess my current opinion is... she may move a little differently than what we're used to, but it shouldn't significantly impact your trip. Earlier today I believe I posted a photo of me relaxing on the waterfront. That was a purposeful trip, to sit and stare at the horizon. Shortly thereafter I felt fine. TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #165 Share Posted February 1, 2016 That's a wrap on Day #2 - not sure if it's currently 1:59am or 2:59 with the time change. Tomorrow: Million Dollar Quartet and Headliners Comedy Club. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app First off.. excellent live review!.. I was on her two weeks ago.. missing it already! I felt the same way with the motion... its not neccessarily worse than other ships.. but it does seem to sway a bit more. Kind of has a different "feel". The beds were so comfy tho.. that I had some of the best sleeps I can remember the first few nights there. The motion was only really felt the one night... it got quite windy. But 6 out of 7 nights were no issues at all.. and the days were even calmer. Doesn't matter what ship you are on.. it depends on how the sea is going to be. Calm seas = smooth sailing

TheDougOut Posted February 1, 2016 Author #169 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Now for a Mom/Nana type question - how are you finding the temperature throughout the ship's venues - a bit nippy with the A/C on high, stuffy, or just about right?? Thanks I know that's a weird question. Perfectly comfortable - I honestly haven't noticed temperature or humidity issues anywhere. I asked the lady - "well you know me, I'm always cold. But it's been fine." Also, how's your cabin - balcony? mini-suite?? location??? We scored on this one, as it was originally intended to be an inexpensive as possible no frills trip to check out the new ship. Booked insides with UDP. Rebooked insides with UDP/SDP when that promo came out. Called upsell 17 days out, and was able to get 4 midship mini suites on deck 10 for $150pp. I believe we're paying around $780 total for mini suites that are perfectly centered between the elevators, with UDP/SDP included. happy cruzin Posted February 1, 2016 #170 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Hanging outside Sugarcane before jumping down to Le Bistro. After finishing her own Raspberry Guava Mojito, my mom just stole mine. I hope she's not driving. This, my friends, is why I love family cruising! Mom: "I really feel it moving." Dad: "Yeah, it's a strong drink." Mom: "I was talking about the ship." Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app EXACTLY why we love family cruising too!!
