keeponcruising Posted February 7, 2016 #1076 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Doug, are you washing your whites or your darks right now? And what did you eat for breakfast? We need an update with pictures! We're all going through TheDougOut withdrawal. You should start your own blog. Your legion of fans on here would follow along everyday until your next cruise. That's funny.
lostone65 Posted February 7, 2016 #1077 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Wow, I amazing review! I agree with EVERYONE this is the best review ever written. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along on your magical mystery tour. I truly will miss you in my daily life. Seriously, I think you feel like family to all of us here. 10 of us leave on the Dawn Sunday. Let me knew if you have any questions about her for your next trip. My next trip after the Dawn will now be the Escape based solely on your review. Thanks again!
Victorious8 Posted February 7, 2016 #1078 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Amazing review! I am so glad to see the ship is alive during the late hours. I can't believe I have to wait until August. CC has been my reward for my study break. Now I only have about 12 more weeks of law school, two months or reviewing for the bar exam and then it will be my turn!! Seriously this was amazing. If you want to be BFF's on my solo cruise I am looking for a friend!

TheDougOut Posted February 8, 2016 Author #1083 Share Posted February 8, 2016 9:41am - going through terrible withdrawal. 293 days until we get to do this again. Not sure I'll make it that long. I might have to break down and do a live midday wander to the vending machine. Phone 63% Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Now how am I supposed to waste time at work? *Sigh*..... I might just have to try and accomplish something so I can pay for my cruise and try and recreate the epic adventures of a legend. In all seriousness, thank you, thank you, thank you for this outstanding review!!!! Stay thirsty, my friend.
Zignewt Posted February 8, 2016 #1086 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I was on this same cruise and so wish I had seen this while onboard. Reading this was like reliving it all over again once I got home. Even saw my picture. As others have said - best review ever! Thank you.

I agree with you about him - he was great. We were there most evenings laughing so hard.

TheDougOut Posted February 8, 2016 Author #1091 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I am on the upcoming Feb 13th Escape cruise and in honor of your live feed we are planning on taking a group photo in front of your "home" so keep an eye out on your Escape-Live Thread! I love it! Buy one for me and leave it on the bar. I've really had a tough time adjusting back to "normal" life, and as such I'm incredibly jealous that you all have this trip in front of you. The Escape was such a great fit for me, and I really need to figure out how to pay her another visit in the near future. I'm seriously considering jumping off the Dawn and returning to the Escape this fall. I know the Dawn is getting some version of O'Sheehans while in dry dock, replacing the Blue Lagoon. Why not add that double-wide cooler of craft bottles & cans while you're at it? Please, NCL?!? Safe travels to everyone! Yorkvillain Posted February 8, 2016 #1092 Share Posted February 8, 2016 The Escape was such a great fit for me, and I really need to figure out how to pay her another visit in the near future. There are still rooms available for the Feb. 20th cruise! Come on, I'll buy you a Corona with my UBP.

If you can convince Motley to go, and convince NCL to give us the UBP promo even though we're within the blackout window, I'll seriously consider it. NatalieAnne Posted February 8, 2016 #1094 Share Posted February 8, 2016 Thank you SO much Doug for this awesome review! I'm looking forward to our stay on the Escape on Saturday! Question - how did you find the smell of smoke in the atrium? When we first booked, the Escape was suppose to be smoke free in the casino. I've heard this changed and some say the atrium stinks of smoke, some don't notice it as much. How did you find it? When we first booked, the Escape was suppose to be smoke free in the casino. I've heard this changed and some say the atrium stinks of smoke, some don't notice it as much. How did you find it? This was also a hot topic prior to our trip on the Breakaway last August. We all agreed then, including my parents (who are sensitive to smoke), that it was much ado about nothing. I think there's a BIG difference between the smell of smoke and smoke in the air. When we first boarded the Escape, as we roamed the 6-7-8 corridor, I could definitely smell the remnants of smoke on Deck 6 in the open atrium (chandelier) area. The odd part is, I never really noticed it the rest of the trip. In hindsight, I've wondered whether part of the "turnover day" cleaning process releases some of the smell (deep carpet cleaning?). Never, on either cruise, did I ever sense that I was "breathing" smoke that was in the air, even while navigating through the winding casino. Have a GREAT trip! tgallag Posted February 9, 2016 #1100 Share Posted February 9, 2016 Thoroughly enjoyed your review. Thank you. We "Escape" on February 27. Party of 6. We too have the UBP. Based on your review I may be going in to this a bit under trained. I will try to remedy that over the next 18 days 🍺🍺
