Starshell Posted February 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2016 Hi, we are off on the Emerald in July - only our second cruise and wondering if there is a specific parking company at the terminal that Princess uses? Last year when we went with Celebrity we booked with AB and they were expensive but very good, think that they are only for Celebrity though? Any advice greatly appreciated- TIA - Shelly
Pink-belle Posted February 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2016 In Southampton the on port parking used by Princess is CPS. In the past I have heard others say there are similar, less expensive options in Southampton, but we always use CPS, have never had a problem. kayelbee Posted February 3, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2016 Another vote for CPS from me. Used them a few times and can't fault them. Drive to the terminal, unload your luggage, hand your keys over get a receipt and start your holidays. At the end of your trip collect your luggage walk about 100 metres to a booth hand your receipt over they hand you your keys and walk to your car (smallish car park so not too far)
john watson Posted February 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) I too would also endorse the CPS Cruise Parking Services product. You can get a quote on their website. You drive directly to the quayside into a special queue. One set of guys take your tagged luggage and another set take your car and keys. You walk into terminal with any hand luggage and your passports and e-tickets. After the cruise you exit the ship, get a self push trolley or acquire a porter who takes you to your deck's row of suitcases, load these onto your trolley. Push this to the CPS parking kiosk, hand them your receipt, they give you your car keys and tell you the row they have parked it in. An alternative to this is a hotel with cruise parking. I have used the Holiday Inn Herbert Walker Avenue, which has a free swimming pool and allow you to park for duration of cruise. At this hotel you park at the back and they give you a sign for dashboard regarding parking. You leave car there and stay in hotel. Integrated into this package is the two way quayside transfer by taxi. In the morning you wait in hotel foyer and a series of taxi drivers call guests by room number and then transfer you to quayside. After cruise you phone the number they give you for the free taxi back to the hotel where you parked your car. A number of companies operate parking only and many hotels do the cruise and stay package. No company specifically dedicates themselves to a single cruise line. Starshell Posted February 3, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted February 3, 2016 Thanks so much for your replies, we were planning to stay at a hotel the night before the cruise so may see if the Holiday Inn is available and how the price compares to parking costs with CPS- very helpful advice Kind regards, Shelly
