BermudaMom Posted February 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Am trying to find out where the Celebrity ships dock in Le Havre and am having difficulty finding port info for there on any website. Our Celebrity ship will be overnighting there in early June. Want to see how far a restaurant we're interest in is from where the ship will likely be. I will post this too on the Europe port section but thought some Celebrity cruisers might know. Thanks in advance for any advice you are able to provide. Thanks in advance for any advice you are able to provide. It only took about 30 seconds to find the port website. Here it is: Where You're Docked Ships dock at Le Havre cruise terminal which ia 1.5 miles from the center of town or the train station. There is tourist info, some small shops, internet and a café inside. Official port website with English pdf guide and cruise schedule (Escales Croisières) here http://www.havre-port.com/ (French - use Chrome or google translator). 4774Papa Posted February 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2016 It is in an industrial area. It seemed that we had a lot of traffic getting out of and back into the port area.
ClaudiaB Posted February 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2016 The one time we went to LaHavre we walked (!!) the nearly 2 miles to the bus station. It was through some industrial area but there were a bunch of us so we just did it. Bought tickets and rode a pleasant drive (20 min??) to the adorable little town of Honfleur. We spent all day there, then repeated our steps. Other people we talked to took a taxi to the city. That's how we'd do it next time. It was really cold that day. digital_curator Posted February 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2016 We were at this port with RCI. We took a taxi into the train station because we didn't want to miss our early train to Rouen but we needn't have worried. It was a short trip (and about 8 euro, if I remember correctly). Since we were in no rush on the way back, we walked. There was a sidewalk and, while it was quiet, we didn't feel unsafe. It took less than half an hour. It would have been lovely if it hasn't rained for the last 10!
smtcan Posted February 8, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 8, 2016 When we had an overnight in Le Havre we rented a car. The first day we toured the Normandy battlefields, with no worries about getting back late. The second day we had a shorter trip to Honfleur. We were able to park at the port overnight at no extra cost, which was very convenient.
Adammara Posted February 8, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 8, 2016 In September 2012 it was 8 euro's for up to 4 people. There was also a taxi company advertising tours, you could have a look at http://www.lehavretourisme.com/en/cruise/cruise-partners/sca-radio-taxi-le-havre,ORGNOR0760000231.html
