gw2fll Posted February 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Do the concierge's still communicate prior to boarding? I have sent several emails with a couple of questions and requests to the Serenade Concierge email address listed in the Google doc's, but so far have not heard a word. (We board Friday, February 26.) Previously, when we sailed in GS's (we are in the RS this sailing) we received a communication from the Concierge's introducing themselves and asking if we needed their assistance. But for this sailing, it has been a completely different experience. I guess I can handle things once we get onboard ship, but I would really like to have things wrapped-up prior to boarding. Guess the support model has changed??? Thanks for the help and advice and letting me know the current routines. (It's always a learning experience.) caseythegr Posted February 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2016 We heard from the concierge on the Vision about 5 days before we boarded, so wait another day or so.

Cruisingthesuitelife Posted February 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Sometimes it can be hit or miss - I have had an email for one cruise and 6 months later on the same ship, no email. I hope you manage to get your queries sorted and have a great cruise.
Mark-Sheffield Posted February 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Our last trip on Indy, albeit a few years ago we were contacted about two weeks before. From reading posts on CC it appears to rest on who the Concierge is ?
RCI Cruisers 004 Posted February 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2016 You should hear from the the week prior to your cruise. Keep in mind their priority is the people they have onboard right now, then they work on the next weeks cruisers .
RazorbackIslandGirl Posted February 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2016 We're in the RS on the Brilliance in 7 days & still have not heard from the concierge. I suspect we will hear something this week. I think it depends on how busy they are with this weeks passengers. I'm not worried. Sometimes you don't hear from them ahead of time. They will meet you at the peer, escort you on & take care of anything you need then. I believe Mario is on the Serenade & he will take great care of you! Have fun & Bon Voyage! spookwife Posted February 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2016 soem do, some don't. some only send a generic form letter I have been not contacted at all, gotten the first email as little as 3 days before and as far out as a month before. any specific requests will not be touched until just before boarding. like when Mr Spook asked for an extension cord about 2 weeks out, we did not get the confirmation until 3 days prior. one cruise we were on, Reyno had a pile of letters I swear no less than 8 inches thick of all the incoming D+, P and Suites the next cruise. he had printed out a good 6 sheets of various requests and was diligently calling when he wasn't being bugged by those of us already on board. gw2fll Posted February 20, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Thanks for all the responses. Good news - connection made this morning. They were having email issues which has been resolved. All is well. Looking forward to boarding on Friday (can't get here soon enough - LOL). PS I did not realize they will meet us in the terminal and escort us onboard. Doug

Doug well we've never been escorted at all. so that may be a ship/individual Concierge thing or maybe only specific classes of suite( we only do GS)

Sam.Seattle Posted February 20, 2016 #16 Share Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) well we've never been escorted at all. so that may be a ship/individual Concierge thing or maybe only specific classes of suite( we only do GS) Usually only the Royal Suite has been my experience. One time however when in the Royal Family Suite the Concierge spotted us and escorted us. Doug - What you can expect is when you provide your Set Sail Pass to the ticket agent, she will escort you to another agent where the Concierge should be waiting. If the ticket agent does not immediately acknowledge that you are in the Royal Suite, I would point it out to him or her. Enjoy the Royal Suite! it is special. gw2fll Posted February 20, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Thanks so much for the great information. (Had several emails today so we are off to a great experience.) My only experience had been in GS's, the escort service was a complete surprise. (The little things mean a lot.) Wonder what other items will occur? Can't wait to find out. :) We have been planning this cruise for almost 2 years (May 2014). We are so excited for the cruise and to experience the suite. Will take lots of pictures and share when we get back. Doug

cincicruisers Posted February 24, 2016 #20 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I'd give it 2-3 more days, then try again. The Concierge can be busy with the guests on a cruise prior to yours. I heard from Amit today. He was unable to assist me with a barefoot beach cabana. I reserved a cabana OTW on Nellies beach in case I was unable to get one on barefoot beach. I got a deal of $320 when I booked. Amit said he could not transfer my reservation to Barefoot. I of course kept the cabana at Nellies as I would have to pay $495 if I changed reservation.
