robtulipe Posted March 9, 2016 #256 Share Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) We had a very efficient and quick luggage drop off and check in on Monday. We arrived at the port at around 10:45am and they started boarding at around 11:10am so we didn't have along wait after check in at just before 11am. FYI, our check in appointment was 11:30 to noon. Weather has been great and seas fairly calm so far. Below is shot of the ship's position at 8am yesterday and the temperature then was already in the upper sixties degrees F. I checked out Family Balconies 6274 and 6276 unit as these are just down from our cabin and have the same cabin attendant as ours. He was cleaning these as I walked by so he let me look in from the doorway. There is nothing different about these two connecting cabins. All balcony cabins have balcony panels that can be opened according to him The attendant seems surprised when I had mentioned earlier that these were designated as a Family Unit by the orange box on the deckplan. It is likely this means both can be booked under one reservation like the Family JS unit. Today I will check out if cabins 3248 and 3250 are connecting. robtulipe Posted March 9, 2016 #257 Share Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Must be in the Library area. Thanks so much. Yes, there's also a back door to get to this area from the rear deck 6 cabin hallway - it's a good way to sneak into a show in 270. Patti, Yes that's where it is although the Library is no longer. They have closed it down and all books have been removed even. I'm not sure if this is permanent. Our deck 6 balcony is on the rear jump section here and it is a great way to access the Two70. There's actually 2 doorways. One on either side. Edited March 9, 2016 by robtulipe
robtulipe Posted March 9, 2016 #258 Share Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Patti, Here is a shot of the RC internet area and the now closed library. Those are Apple computers which is typical for RCI ships. Also our location and temperature at just before 8am this morning. Note ship's speed has dropped from over 24 knots we were doing yesterday. The Norovirus protocol is still very high today. One must use sanitization lotion before entering any shops and staff is ensuring all wash their hands going into the restaurants. All sweeteners are on request from staff only in Promenade and Two70 Café. We have gone to WJ Marketplace yet. In the Diamond and Concierge's lounges they have a staff making all coffees at the machines there. Edited March 9, 2016 by robtulipe
Rare Tapi Posted March 9, 2016 #259 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Today I will check out if cabins 3248 and 3250 are connecting. Thanks again for your time! If you physically go there, can you tell me if cigarette smell from the nearby casino is noticeable on deck 3? Hope you're having a fantastic time! robtulipe Posted March 9, 2016 #262 Share Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Thanks again for your time! If you physically go there, can you tell me if cigarette smell from the nearby casino is noticeable on deck 3? Hope you're having a fantastic time! I just went down and spoke to the cabin attendant as he was just outside 3248 with the door open. He confirmed and I could see that there isn't a connecting doorway between those two cabins so the Anthem deck plans that show these are connecting are wrong. I doubt that smoke will be a problem with cabins in that section as last night we ate in Chic on deck 3 aft and walked there and back to our port side deck 6 cabin using the port side rear stairs which exit right at the aft entrance to the casino and DW, who is sensitive to smoke and has a keen sense of smell nor I could smell any cigarette smoke there. kruzgal72 Posted March 14, 2016 #269 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Weird question. Do the mini bar refrigerators have a little freezer in them? I need to have ice packs at the ready due to chronic migraines/headaches. Thanks!

I need to have ice packs at the ready due to chronic migraines/headaches. Thanks! Our balcony room did not have a freezer in the fridge. You could request that your cabin steward bring you an ice bucket each day. Maybe you could pack some ziplock bags.

Glad to hear things are getting back to normal. Can you tell me who the Hotel Director is? Thanks and continue having a great time. Yes, yesterday we were in Costa Maya so it was a quiet day for us and most others compared to the previous two days. There's not a lot to do in that port especially if one has been there a few times like ourselves. GS advised me that the hotel director is Ronald Ness. We haven't been provided with an executive officers fact sheet as typically done on our past RCI cruises.

No sit down restaurants service showed available on Cruise Compass daily planner for day 1 except for pay for Jamie's and Michael's pub. WJ Marketplace, Two70 café and Cafe Promenade along with Coastal Kitchen for suites were our options. I haven't seen High Tea offered to date.
