Which side does the Breakaway dock in Bermuda?

When the Breakaway docks in Bermuda, are the Port side Balconies facing the pier or vice versa?

No, the direction varies based on several variables (weather, maintenance needs, crew lifeboat drills, etc, etc).

Last year, it seemed 75% of the time it was docked along the portside, with the captain spinning the ship prior to docking. Later in the year it seemed to get closer to 50/50.

 

In regards to variables that determine direction, I've often wondered if tide comes into play. Might there be a preference to spin the vessel at high tide rather than low tide? Or is this a non-issue?

The captain on the Dawn made it sound like they alternated port-starboard every week, in order to the service the lifeboats on each side on a regular schedule, but I have a feeling it isn't that predictable, either.

I've even seen ships switch docking sides during their stay in Bermuda. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

You can check on the bermuda web cam every time it docks in bermuda and you might get an idea which side it will dock when it is your cruise

That won't mean a thing. As mentioned in the previous posts it is unpredictable.

I believe it was Meatball_NY© who keeps track of the docking the last couple years. As said, it it typically 2/3 to 3/4 of the times port side along the dock for BA and Dawn but since Dawn switched docks last year I wasn't really paying attention to how the Dawn docked.
