jcgld62 Posted February 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Anyone else go through a 'pretend' booking on one of the $49 deposit cruises and at the end it says deposit due $800? I'm putting in 4 people for a 5 day so that would be the normal deposit amount. What am I missing?
cruisnhillbilly Posted February 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2016 not sure what went wrong for you but i booked 2 cruises back to back with this special and it was 250 per cruise, 5 of use sailing .
KenMo Posted February 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I checked out a couple of 7 night cruises. The deposit for both of them was $198 total (2 of us).

paulatay Posted February 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I had the same issue. Deposit should be $79 but it keeps telling me $200.
cruiselovin'momma Posted February 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2016 This is the pricing guide for the reduced deposits..... The Early Saver fare is subject to availability and is capacity controlled. $49 per person deposit is applicable to 2 -3 day sailings, $79 per person deposit is applicable to 4 – 5 day sailings, $99 per person deposit is applicable to 6 – 9 day and Vista Caribbean sailings, and $149 per person deposit is applicable to 10+ days, Alaska, Vista Europe sailings. Definitely shouldn't be $800. Although it does say "capacity controlled". I remember someone on FB saying they were having this problem during the last reduced deposit, and, the answer they were given is that Carnival had already filled their availability for that sailing under the reduced deposits. I have no idea if that is actually the case or not, but, that's what they were told on the Carnival FB page.

Indytraveler83 Posted February 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I've heard of glitches but it's also a tiered system of 49 to 150 per person. Just put down $600 for 6 people on a 7 night cruise. Normal is $250 pp, so I was happy to put down $600 vs $1500

I'm putting in 4 people for a 5 day so that would be the normal deposit amount. What am I missing? The deposit details say $49 and up. There is also a breakdown of various deposits based on length of cruise, but when I did mock bookings, I too received deposit amounts in conflict with stated deposits. siestakeys04 Posted February 24, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Yes it was weird... I tried again and it gave the new deposit.

Even throughout the 'pretend' booking it states "$49 reduced deposit" as one of the booking category perks.

scuabacruiser Posted February 24, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I don't think I have ever booked online. I like to use my PVP so I can pick the cabin and deck I want. Never had a problem with the special pricing that way. If it did show another price, the pvp took care of it.
YourCruiseGurl Posted February 24, 2016 #15 Share Posted February 24, 2016 I was wondering why my mock booking for a 4-day said $158. Makes sense now...
