poz222 Posted March 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Last week, it was showing the $58 plus 18% and today... It was the 49 + 18% ($57.82) so I booked it today just in case it went back up... Seems maybe they're playing with the pricing and realized demand was less at the $10 more price point?

Glad I waited to book till now! I think that's what its been. $49 + 18% = $58 They just show it different depending on what website you're on. Sometimes it says $58, that s total, sometimes it says $49 + Gratuity. Sorry, hasn't been lowered

WisconsinFan Posted March 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Marketing, Marketing, Marketing....the price didn't go down. They just pulled the gratuities out, making it look like the prices went down. Take $49 and add 18%, comes out to $58. Price before the new ad. CRUISEBOY305 Posted March 10, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Nothing has changed with the packages. $58 was WITH the gratuity. $49 is without. The sheet that is out now is priced without the gratuity http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/shared_assets/pdf/menus/beverage_packages.pdf This was the Ultimate package back in February (with the gratuity). If you do the math, it is exactly the same price.
Hailzmick Posted March 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 11, 2016 It dropped by $7 per day in AUD. A legit drop too [emoji4][emoji108]🏼
monctonguy Posted March 11, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 11, 2016 NO price drop...I don't know why or where all this is coming from..its been that price now for the past year or so a least.. Please, RCI would not drop prices..for those buying in different currencies it could change, but even then RCI is keeping prices higher than official exchange rates for Canadians at least right now with their OBC charge. travelwide Posted March 11, 2016 #16 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Just got off Navigator and if there are two adults in the cabin and one purchases the drink package, the other one must also purchase it. You all know why this is the rule.....no sharing of one package! Where did the previous poster think only one can purchase it?? Perhaps on other cruise lines but not this one. Not everyone in the stateroom is required to purchase the package. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&pnav=5&pnav=2&faqType=faq&faqSubjectId=336&faqSubjectName=Food+%26+Beverage&faqId=5805

As has been stated, unless this changed VERY VERY recently this is not true. We have been able to only have one purchase. When the packages first came out that was the rule, however it changed a few years back.

What actually happened is you encountered a good salesperson who took the chance that you weren't going to call his or her bluff. They figured they could sell two!
