Fly into Ft. Laud. for Miami cruise???

Recommended Posts

To get a quote on public transportation (we are talking city buses, trains), just call the Broward County Transit System 954-357-8400 customer service. The rep asked where I was coming from (address) and going to, he plugged it into his software and came up with 4 different routes of service. He also emailed them to me.

One way would be to try Priceline for Sheraton FLL ($45 +tax) then in the morning ask the hotel shuttle to drop you off at the Tri-Rail station. If they don't then you have to go to the airport and get the free shuttle bus to the Tri-rail. It is actually right next door to the Sheraton but is separated by the highway (I-95) On weekends the train leaves at 7:50am, 9:50am, & 11:50am and arrives at Miami Airport at 8:39am, 10:39am & 12:39am. The Station at Miami airport is the end of the line and it is right across the road from the Airport Wyndham hotel. The train fare is $3 one way & $5 return. They are double decker trains similar to the GO trains in Toronto. You would then need 1 or 2 cabs (for 6 people with luggage) from Miami tri-station. The cost would be about $20 to the port of Miami/cab.

A better way is to rent a 7 passenger van Saturday morning from Alamo at FLL, drop it off at Alamo Miami airport and they will shuttle you to the pier and pick you up on the return.

Hope this helps

Cheers,
