Gimmiethebeach Posted April 9, 2016 Author #176 Share Posted April 9, 2016 It's officially over. It took us 35 minutes from the time we left our room at 7:45 am until we were outside waiting for Uber. We did the easy walk off because we have a 1:00 flight out of west palm. Miami feels a little chilly now compared to the weather we have had on the ship! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Gimmiethebeach Posted April 9, 2016 Author #178 Share Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) I have a bunch of pictures on my real camera that I will post once I get home I tried taking pictures last night of the iPad with the wines by the glass but it didn't work all that well [emoji12]. La Cucina was great last night. After dinner we let the casino take the rest of our money and headed to bed before midnight. One week on this ship was not enough! We never made it to Howl at the Moon or the comedy show. We aren't big show people so weren't planning on The Brat Pack or Vocal Overdrive. I would have loved to see Million Dollar Quartet, but oh well. I never stepped foot in Spice H2O and really wanted to see the grotto. I had no interest in Vibe because I actually like the craziness around the pool. I did not get a drink at the mojito bar. However, I ate everywhere I wanted to, including on the waterfront at Moderno. I did the ropes course twice, including once at sea. I even went up on the top floor of it. I read three books and spent many hours by the pool. I would definitely cruise on the Escape again. All of the negative stuff I read before sailing was just not our experience. Yes the pool deck was crowded on sea days, but no more so than any other spring break cruise we have taken. Yes, you could smell the smoke from the casino but it certainly wasn't as bad as I expected. The UBP was fantastic, you could get whatever you wanted at any bar or restaurant. The drinks were never watered down. The wifi was a little frustrating at times but it was fine overall. I even had 22 minutes left on my 250 minute package! You could definitely feel the ship move most days, but I can't say it was that much different than other ships we've been on. She did make a lot of noise when the seas were rough. Creaking and sometimes banging which was weird. The only things I would do differently are 1. Only bring on three nice bottles of wine (not 4 good bottles and 1 nice bottle) and 2. Pack better! By yesterday I was out of clothes!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Edited April 9, 2016 by Gimmiethebeach
Gimmiethebeach Posted April 9, 2016 Author #179 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Oh yeah, the iconcierge app worked great for us. Very easy to text the kids and each other. I also used it to book dinner reservations. Never could figure out how to cancel or change them though. 17cruisesnsl Posted April 9, 2016 #185 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Thank you Great review really enjoyed it. I agree a week is not enough time on the Escape. I wish they would offer some 10 day cruises as a b2b would be great but too many days away for some of us.

I have heard pf people stealing them off chairs..... thanks John You'll have towels in your room - one per person- when you get on the ship. Supposedly yes you are charged if you lose any but the whole thing is very relaxed. You can check out extra at the towel station just by writing down your room number. Sometimes when you return then there is not a person there, just the clipboard. The evening before Tortola our stateroom attendant brought us four clean ones and didn't take the other ones because we were all in the room getting ready for dinner. So it's very relaxed and not a big deal. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Coachyo Posted April 10, 2016 #192 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Been drinking my fair share of coronas this week by the pool. If you tip your waiter you might even get a bucket of ice with a few beers in it. That's not supposed to be included in the UBP but we've had it delivered a few times. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app This will be our 1st cruise. So looking forward to it. So how much of a tip gets you buckets? :D Also is there a daily limit in the UBP? Signed Really Thirstyp
Warm-Water Diver Posted April 10, 2016 #193 Share Posted April 10, 2016 This will be our 1st cruise. So looking forward to it. So how much of a tip gets you buckets? :D Also is there a daily limit in the UBP? Signed Really Thirstyp I think she mentioned $5 tip got her that. NO. There is no limit at all on how many drinks you can get with the UBP. I had no trouble getting 2 drinks on 1 card at the pool, returning immediately to get 2 more. Yes, that was a very "thirsty" day! :D

So how much of a tip gets you buckets? :D Also is there a daily limit in the UBP? Signed Really Thirstyp Yes we did a $5 tip right off the bat. Every day we would start out with a tip and service was always great. No limit on the UBP although the rules say one drink at a time. I routinely got a drink for myself and a virgin pina colada for one of our boys at the same time. Or would order a drink for myself and Kevin on just my card. Not a problem at all. Have a great cruise! Those Caribbean waters sure do make you thirsty!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
LrgPizza Posted April 10, 2016 #195 Share Posted April 10, 2016 We were brought a bucket of beers for $0 tip in the theater. Despite what people will like you to think, you don't have to bribe for good service. We certainly tipped him AFTER he brought the bucket, but the server brought it because he's a good server. We had UBP and had each ordered 1 beer. He brought us a bucketful, and said he thought that would get us through the show.

If a server ever did that for me, he/she would receive the tip AND an unsolicited hug, probably while I fought back tears. :). So great when the crew has fun with the guests! Gimmiethebeach Posted April 16, 2016 Author #199 Share Posted April 16, 2016 So this is why I decided to do my review live...I knew I would never get around to it once we got home! Now that we are back on our regular schedule, back to eating only 3 times a day instead of 6, and NOT drinking at noon (sigh), I'm going to post some pictures I took with my real camera as well as the Dailies. It's time to start planning the next one!!
