Viv0828 Posted April 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2016 We just booked a cruise on the carnival miracle and the carnival person we spoke to told us to watch for price drops. How do we do that? vwrestler171 Posted April 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2016 Just do mock bookings and see if the price is lower than the price you've paid. It has dropped $200 in the last couple of months for my upcoming cruise on the Miracle in November.

ilovemy3boys Posted April 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2016 I actually did it yesterday. Mine dropped $250...go check. Just make sure it is the same category that you booked. I called Carnival and the man helped me fill out the online form. He said it only works if there are cabins still available in your category. There was 1 left in mine...so I jumped on it and got confirmation 4 hours later!
bakersdozen12 Posted April 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2016 I'm assuming you booked Early Saver, which is why the Carnival employee told you to watch for price drops. Early Saver is the rate that will do price matching. Just one thing to remember when doing mock bookings: if you chose your cabin under your current rate, you cannot match to a rate in which Carnival chooses your cabin without giving up your cabin. TIA. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app http://www.carnival.com/bookingengine/fareviewer# If you use this tool it will break it down for you. You have to know what you paid per person and then divide the total given here by the number of travelers. Don't look at the price on the receipt per person if you have more than 2 people in a cabin. If there are 3 as an example and you paid $1500 the price per person would be $500 not the break down on the receipt. The prices given on this tool are without taxes and port fees and if you added them prepaid gratuities.
Anyislandwilldo Posted April 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Once you find that you do have a price drop, you will need to fill out the price protection form and submit it to Carnival. You should receive an email within 48 hrs with notification that they approved the price drop. If you haven't paid off the cruise, they will reduce your fare. If the cruise is paid in full, you will get on board credit. http://www.carnival.com/core/requestforms/PriceProtection

Keys2Heaven Posted April 3, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Unfortunately for us, we've got spoiled with our aft-extended balconies and try to book these whenever possible. This category sells out quickly, so there's no taking advantage of a price drop, because none exist!

Rare but it does happen.

ksmcdonald Posted April 4, 2016 #14 Share Posted April 4, 2016 Unfortunately, I probably will not see price drop in my Havana Cabana on the Vista for 2017. I see now there is only two of these Cabana's left, and sailing is 15 months away! Oh well........
ccruisequeen Posted April 4, 2016 #15 Share Posted April 4, 2016 (edited) I got $200 in OBC on the Miracle via a casino rate. I also got $40 in casino cash. I no longer see carnival from my condo front porch :( Edited April 4, 2016 by ccruisequeen
NoJolt4U Posted April 4, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 4, 2016 The only problem with checking the prices is if your category room is sold out. Then you have nothing to compare it to and of course you won't see any prices drop in that case either.

Is it based on the amount of play you do in the Casino? We do spend time in the casino but have never had any offers like this. wizfourfam Posted April 4, 2016 #19 Share Posted April 4, 2016 We were lucky to snag a $700.00 price drop on an aft Miracle balcony! All I had to do was rebook. Worth checking!

If a higher category comes in at the same price you paid for yours, you can upgrade for free :)

There are only 4 rooms on the whole ship that are in the category and will fit 4 cruisers and i took 2 of them. Bummer. Oh well! Can't wait! mjkd Posted April 4, 2016 #24 Share Posted April 4, 2016 You might want to let Cruise Critic help you out with your search for price drops. On the top of the page click on deals and scroll down to price drops. { http://www.cruisecritic.com/price-drop/} A new page pops up to enter your cruise, room type. Price drops will be emailed on Friday. This suggestion should be used in conjunction with the methods already provided
