rocklinmom Posted April 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2016 The current Free at Sea promotion ends on April 10th. I have been watching a summer 2017 cruise and am wondering if anyone has an idea what the new upcoming promotion might be (starting on April 11th)... Mistizoom Posted April 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2016 I just got a multi-page color brochure in the mail and it looks like the current promos are going to remain active. It says good for bookings from April 1-30, 2016. Also shows Friends & Family sail free.
Mistizoom Posted April 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2016 Looking at http://www.ncl.com/choiceterms it does show the current "up to $500 OBC" for 2016 sailings will end on April 10, however.

That's not the only time they have said a promotion would end and it didn't.
kdzkatz Posted April 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2016 It used to be kind of fun to see what the next promo is.....now is just the same 'ol thing just spun slightly differently. Sure wish they would bring back the paid DSC as an option. That would cost them money though so I am guessing they will stick with their "discount" on excursions that they have jacked the price up on. Oh well. Richie2pies Posted April 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2016 The next promo will be the same. They are getting you to pay so what else do you want to know. You are paying for the drinks and the food whether you realize it or not. Check out the TOTAL price before and after the promo.

I understand where you are coming from but we got such an incredible deal through casino at seas that even paying UBP and 4 night dining gratuities was only $1,000 for total cost of two people in OA. We enjoy the casino but are far from high rollers. This $1,000 was total cost of the cruise with taxes, port fees, gratuities and insurance. Sometimes it pays to gamble. Livabeth Posted April 9, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Our travel agent advised us about a month ago that there was new promo on April 10. I guess we will have to wait and see if it is the current one with a slight tweak or something totally new.

It's an incredible value.
djmess Posted April 9, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Looking for info also. The only thing I see is the promotion extended to April 30 for Balcony and above staterooms. No mention of Oceanview, Inside, studios I've seen no mention of Oceanview, Inside and Studios. Does anyone know if these categories will still include the "Pick 1" Perk like is currently offered until April 10?
Rare mking8288 Posted April 9, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) I am only to guess - the next promotion when the current one "expired" and isn't "extended" or "renewed" again for like the 5th. time in 30 days or so, maybe 45 days. For Americans, with the income tax season coming to an end & refunds coming, maybe it will a 50% "sale" #cough #cough - reduced cruise deposit, on select sailings :D (In other words, when final/full payment is due, you will just to pay more then on the outstanding balance - interest free "deal" and helping those with tax payments owed to the government.) It was offered recently & then withdrawn, just need to get the dog & pony show to repeat the same old tricks. Meanwhile, in other news - RCI's latest email - this morning - promotion - BOGO + Free Gratuities + free upgrades. hun Posted April 9, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 9, 2016 The very best price we ever got was on an RCCL Med cruise which was only offered one day - last April 15 "tax day" - so I'll be checking cruise sites that day! [emoji120]🏼
rocklinmom Posted April 11, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Bummer. I just checked the new promo, effective today (4/11) through 4/30. It is exactly the same for the cruise I've been watching. And the half deposit is now gone. It's back to $250 per person.
hun Posted April 11, 2016 #14 Share Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) Something I noticed on our 2017 9-night sailing is that while the promos may seem the same, for dining anyway, they may have changed the number of dining nights. We happened to book in February when it was 4 dinners on a 9 night sailing, and it recently went to 3. I actually hadn't realized the difference until recently (I keep looking for better deals/promos as well!) and only figured out we were ahead of the game when I calculated the gratuity charge, and realized we got 4 dinners! [emoji39] (changes to the other promos are pretty transparent I think.) Edited April 11, 2016 by hun

TheDougOut Posted April 11, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 11, 2016 I wonder if part of the motivation behind 4>3 SDP meals is from the recent complaints about difficulty securing specialty dining reservations from an overabundance of SDP promos.
