The_Big_M Posted April 9, 2016 #26 Share Posted April 9, 2016 My point is really the fact that after dark there is little for a tourist to do especially if home is a 30 minute bus trip followed by a sea boat which depending upon weather conditions may or may not be running. Life would be easier if the shuttle ran all night and was free as is the case in some other ports but this is where I think things start to unravel. Celebrity always charge when they run their shuttles. In some ports, the local tourist authority run free ones as they pay for them themselves, but that's just good fortune for passengers. GUT2407 Posted April 10, 2016 #27 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Why on earth did they choose to overnight at Yorkey's Knob? Same thing I wondered.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted April 10, 2016 #28 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Celebrity always charge when they run their shuttles. In some ports, the local tourist authority run free ones as they pay for them themselves, but that's just good fortune for passengers. Initially the local business folk run a free shuttle, until they realise that most passengers want to beat them down in price, only buy a cheap bottle of wine and nowadays not even a postcard. They still run the shuttles but charge to at least cover costs.
