cocacola Posted April 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2016 This is my first b2b and do have a different cabin. When I made reservation with carnival on phone the lady said I have to take my luggage off and bring back on when I check in for 2nd cruise. I do not believe this and can someone tell me what carnival procedure is.
Rare dickinson Posted April 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2016 I highly doubt that info is correct. Usually they take you to an area of the ship and you all go out together (unless it is a large group of b2b) and are the first to reboard. You DO NOT take your luggage. Check with your room steward to see how it works. Probably you pack up everything that is not hanging and they move it for you. Hanging clothes they put on a rack. SadieN Posted April 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Only know of one cruise where all luggage had to be taken off. Splendor when she was sailing out of Long Beach. We pack up everything and put the next cabin's luggage tag on the suitcase. SkyMaster Posted April 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2016 In my B2B experience, Dickinson is correct. You don't have to worry too much about your luggage. Pack it up, and the room stewards will assist you in moving it to your new cabin. I've NEVER had to take it off the ship with me at turnaround, and in fact, in one port, (Tampa) we didn't even have to walk of the ship ourselves. Just got our new sign-n-sail card from the Guest Services desk, and "dinged in" when the new passengers started to come aboard. ;) "SKY"
Trumpster Posted April 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2016 This is what I have been told, You leave your luggage, check with your steward and let him know you're a b2b and what should you do. They sometimes move the luggage for you or tell you what to do. I plan to grease his palm so to make sure its done. ;) I may even try to meet my new steward. We are doing the same and I plan on bringing the 2nd cruise leg's luggage tags and putting them on that morning. My bags will not be placed outside for pickup. that way they have the proper room # and sailing. We are on the same deck and in the same area, just other side. You then report to wherever they tell you to meet and you are conducted through the re boarding process from there. It sounds relatively painless and I'm really looking forward to it. It gives us a chance to try a cabin type we've never had and then go into our favorite cabin too.
CruiserMiami Posted April 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2016 Guests do not have to carry their luggage off the ship if you're doing B2B. I work as a check-in agent, and I am familiar with the procedure. Usually, B2B guests without same rooms will have to make their bags and it will be delivered to their new room (check with your stateroom steward for exact procedure). After, they will meet in a public space where they will be given their new sail&sign card and once everyone is off the ship they will escorted to be processed by U.S. Customs and are then escorted back on the ship before anyone else. It's quick and painless. Enjoy!

eedee Posted April 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Although our cabin stewart informed us that he would be delivering our luggage to our new cabin, we decided to carry our own. We only had one carryon each. We did end up with another luggage that I had to purchase onboard because of all the shopping we did during our cruise.I forgot that luggage and left it in our first cabin. The cabin stewart from the first cruise delivered that luggage to our new cabin.

pbmsmile Posted April 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 11, 2016 FYI: We just did a B2B on the Glory out of Miami and contrary to what the carnival rep told us and what has been reported on here... YOU CANNOT BRING ON 2 BOTTLES OF WINE EACH!! Even if you show both of your boarding passes. They took our second bottles and had us go to the security supervisor who assured us we would get them on the second half...NOPE! we went down and asked and were told sorry- they have been disposed of already! The service desk said this has happened before and did comp us 1 bottle of wine in the dining room. very frustrating though! Aside from that small annoyance.. we loved our B2B and had an amazing trip!

We have never ever had an issue, we always show them our B2B documents and they let us each bring 4 bottles. If it happens in the future kindly ask to speak to a Senior person, as this is allowed. You will meet up in a specified place with other B2B guests and they will lead you through customs etc. Make sure if bringing wine for both cruises, print your second week boarding passes. If they say only one bottle per person, show them you are doing a B2B, we have never ever had a problem getting our 4 bottles through on the first cruise

I've never linked my B2B. Seemed to be an automatic thing. One day I checked at Guest Services and they said I was already on the list. On Carnival your first cruise's folio is completely closed out. There is no rollover of your balance or OBC. Edited April 11, 2016 by SadieN

We each brought on 2 bottles, along with the documents for both legs, they didn't say a word. Maybe it's the luck of the draw on who is on duty?
