Cruiseoholic000 Posted April 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2016 What do you bring with you for a evening on the ship? I am looking for something small for my iPhone (pictures) and my cruise card. Possibly something clips to your pants to have hands free or wrist for a dress. CHEZMARYLOU Posted April 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2016 I just take a small evening bag with a strap for sea pass, camera, tissues & lip gloss. Some have wrist straps but the shoulder strap seems more hands free to me.
cb at sea Posted April 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) I have a small purse I use for concerts and things where I don't need my everyday purse (and I can dance around without a large bag slamming everywhere!)....you can find cute, small bags at any dept. store! I have a summer and winter one! Mine fits on my shoulder with a short shoulder strap, so hands can be free, but the purse is still in contact with my body....just enough room for a comb, tissues, lipstick phone, etc..... You don't need anything special..just something small and cute! Check out any store that carries purses! pollywannacocktail Posted April 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Look for a dressy crossbody bag or even a nice belt bag (aka fanny pack). I always want something hands free for evening, especially if we're going to be dancing.
awhfy Posted April 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Kohls had about 30 different kinds today (& I wasn't looking for one!)
OCruisers Posted April 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Whatever you buy, make sure it has no magnetic closure of any kind which will disable your cruise card. ;)
crystalspin Posted April 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Every time I carry my card next to my phone (pictures) I have to make a trip to the front desk to get a new card. YMMV, but if they tell you that is why your card doesn't work, it's true.
watchdiva Posted April 11, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Coach wristlets....hold phone, keycard, lipstick and glasses. I use them all year long. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
CaribbeanDreamer80 Posted April 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 11, 2016 I just bought a cute little slim cross body bag from Marshalls for around $17. I like the ones that aren't bulky and have a zip pocket in the back(close to the body) then a main pocket. I like to keep it slim so its not to bulging. It also nice to take into port, carries my sea pass card, id, phone and a little cash.

waterbug123 Posted April 12, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2016 I have a couple of wristlet wallets. One by Coach, the other is a Kate Spade, but you can find budget brands easily enough. Wristlets can vary in size, but the ones I have are pretty small and perfect for carrying in the evening on a cruise when all you need is a phone (maybe), ship card, lipstick and maybe a few casino chips/cash. AdoraBelle Posted April 22, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Check Baggalini products, they are high utility and come in cute colors. My favorite "phone plus cards" cross body is one. See your TJ Maxx for deals.
phxbne Posted April 24, 2016 #14 Share Posted April 24, 2016 I use a silver wristlet I got at Kohls - takes no room to pack, and the silver makes it seem dressy
simplelife Posted April 24, 2016 #15 Share Posted April 24, 2016 My wristlet is black patent pleather, no-name brand that I picked up cheap somewhere -don't remember where. Looks decent and serves its purpose.
bookishsort Posted June 4, 2016 #16 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Another TJMaxx fan here. I have a Hobo brand that can be a cross body or wristlet.
Bowie MeMe Posted June 5, 2016 #17 Share Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) for phone pills and card I carry a black silk envelope bag with a little flower on it and gold handle. My husband's Nanna used this bag and it is well over 60 years old. It is pretty and has a pretty memory that makes a cruise even more special. I have a blue beaded one from my daughter's wedding that is as good. Tiny thing for purse 6 x4 inches but the phone fits perfectly. Alternative is to stick the key card in the lady's private space (bra) or I saw my granddaughter stick it in her shoe (high heel -- it shows in the picture:D) Edited June 5, 2016 by Bowie MeMe
dulcimergirl Posted June 5, 2016 #18 Share Posted June 5, 2016 I love my Running Buddy, small discreet, and the magnets do not bother the card at all. Perfect for walking around the ship, will hold my card, money (for casino) and camera. I have a larger one for shore visits so I can put my camera, money, card and extra's in it. Tested one of those at the Fair last year. Thought it got too heavy for my waistband when my phone and fabric card pocket were inside and didn't like how easily it could be taken off the waistband while in port. Saw something else that looked promising. A newish take on a fanny pack- a north/south pocket that could either be attached to its own belt or onto belt loops. dulcimergirl Posted June 5, 2016 #20 Share Posted June 5, 2016 Easily? Wow, mine is very hard to remove from my waistband, and the small one is very light. I like being hands free, and almost invisible under my tops. The midsize does hold my camera and lipstick, and card, money, etc. It's got to be safer in port than carrying a purse, or worse, shudder, a fanny pack.. OH, well, that explains it. Running Buddy's are extremely hard to pull off. I mean, these really work. If your pants are snug, they won't come off.
