disembarkation question: Carry my luggage instead of letting them pick it up? What?

I was on the Carnival Miracle in March and those passengers willing to do self assisted debarkation were allowed to leave first. My parents who tend to pack light were off the ship at least two hours earlier than my wife and I (we do not pack as light as we could for cruises - when you only have to unpack and pack once, the temptation to take whatever you think you might need is too great). I have not heard of Princess instituting this program.

Unless you have a really early flight, why leave the ship. The dining room is open for breakfast and they really don't kick you out of your room. Next cruise I refuse to get up at the crack of dawn because I know better now.

As far as I am concerned, I can be the last one off as long as I get to the airport in time.

It is over too soon anyway

Yep, that's why all our cruises have been 3,4,and 7 days- She can't carry enough stuff to go for 10 days.
