DJDaveS Posted April 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2016 Hi all, Need some help. We are sailing this weekend on the Jewel of the Seas and we have an extra day so I thought it would be a good idea to see the ships leave the day before. I have twin toddlers (2.5 years old). They will most likely be in a stroller. Where is a good place to watch the ships leave. That isn't too far from my car. And I can bring a stroller? Please let me know! Capt_BJ Posted April 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2016 sorry to say that Port E is not a place with good 'easy' places to watch the ships depart . . .

With a stroller the top of the 17th Street Bridge is about the only place. You can valet park at the Hyatt.
DJDaveS Posted April 20, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted April 20, 2016 Thanks for the reply. What about the John Loyd Beach State Park. I heard I can see the ships from there. Is it a far walk from the parking lot? And could I bring a stroller or is it sand?

Yes, it is sand.

Yes, it is sand. and if you look at a map ... it is not 'easy' to get there. Every time I recommend this spot for watching I get beat up on the difficult access point . . . You need to go out on the jetty to get the full effect To get into the park you drive a few miles south from main Lauderdale then east to the coast then back north into the LARGE park ... and then you need to get out to the jetty Edited April 20, 2016 by Capt_BJ
