easyboy Posted April 26, 2016 #26 Share Posted April 26, 2016 Just off the Emerald in Southampton. FYI, they have a currency exchange machine onboard that will exchange currencies. Is the machine located on deck 5 or 6, midship? what currencies are allowed? Thanks!
Corfe Mixture Posted April 26, 2016 #27 Share Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) I'm in the same boat as "2theship" ;):)I recently sailed into South Hampton, and I opted for the transfers. and I recently visited Wash Hington :) Sorry couldn't resist. Seriously, if you are only going to be in the UK for the time it takes to get to the airport, then take the ship's transfer. As a general rule the premium you will pay for the convenience of a ship's transfer is minimal. . I live not far from Southampton and the only other sensible way is airport transport car. Yes you will save a bit and the service provided by these companies is good and if you have plenty of time, for a small premium, they will take you via Stonehenge, but, for peace of mind, ship's transfer every time. (Note: Public transport would be National Express coach which would involve taxi to coach station - cheap, or by rail which would require taxi to railway station, then either change to airport coach at Woking or go onto Waterloo and then take underground with one change to get to Heathrow - not cheap and slower).
