Krazy Kruizers Posted April 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2016 Don't know what these strange flowers are in one of our gardens: Blue Bells -- what is left of them: April tree -- what is left of it after the neighbors complained that some it was in their yard -- so we had it cut to suit them -- now they are asking how soon the tree will fill again as they have full sun most of the day in the kitchen and dining room. And to think we had them decide how much of the tree was bothering them!

Krazy Kruizers Posted April 28, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Love the backyard friends. We have 6 bird feeders -- food goes out 2 times a day during the good weather and more times when we have snow storms. We always buy sunflower seeds and peanuts -- both out of the shells -- by the 50 pound bags. And we have the mixed seed for the little birds and finches. We also have 3 bird baths and do put bread on the ground for the lazy birds, bunnies and squirrels who don't want to get up on the feeders. ikirumata Posted April 28, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Came into the office the other morning to find a wild turkey perched on one of the windows. He/she hung out near the cafeteria for a while before disappearing back into the woods. turkey-2 by ikirumata, on Flickr

Rare pierces Posted May 2, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted May 2, 2016 To an adult passing by, this is a pink scribble on concrete. To the happy three-year-old artist, it's a masterpiece and represents something significant and beautiful that we have forgotten how to see. zackiedawg Posted May 3, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 3, 2016 Lots of action this past week in the wetlands - some slightly graphic content ahead, for anyone who might not like the circle-of-life in progress or who hates birds and loves amphibians and fish! Yes, birds successfully catching lunch. Been playing around with the new mirrorless cam with a big ol' 150-600mm lens attached - lots of fun having that kind of reach on such a tiny camera: Black crowned night heron with a recently caught frog, soon to become lunch: A least tern with a fish caught in a recent dive: An anhinga with a nice large fish: Yes...this is a wood stork with a solid 5-foot wingspan, carrying a branch at least 6 feet long while flying!: A black-necked stilt has made her nest on a patch of root and leaf in the shallow mud flats - during a quick rearrangement and repositioning, I got a peek at her 4 spotted eggs:
