dkjretired Posted April 28, 2016 #51 Share Posted April 28, 2016 When the OP posted their issue on this board they opened themselves up to either ridicule or praise. They have received both. My first thought was why in the world would they post to begin with. My second thought was they wanted all of us to know that they had the means to afford the RS. and my third was Not My Problem. I agree and it is not the first time your second thought has been done. Far from it.
Hydrokitty Posted April 28, 2016 #52 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Do any of you ever think there should be a separate access controlled forum for super-duper elites and another for suite guests so they can share their concerns/gripes without fear of retribution/ridicule by us commoners? Maybe another one for those who think everyone should have to dress "to the 9's" on formal nights. Seems like that would go a long way towards eliminating a lot of the hostility on these boards. :) We need a "Like" button!:D
CruisersTimesThree Posted April 28, 2016 #53 Share Posted April 28, 2016 When we sailed on Summit and Eclipse we were contacted about 7 to 10 days before the cruise. On Summit in September the shore side concierge was Tanji. ConciergeTanji@Celebrity.com Tanji is no longer the stateside concierge for the Summit, she has moved to managing requests for one of the S-class ships. The young lady that has replaced her is named Katie.
monl765 Posted April 28, 2016 #54 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Most importantly, while my flowers made it to the suite, the truffles (on the same pre-order summary) did not. I am traveling with someone who is a first-time X cruiser, and I was getting a little embarrassed. I am guessing that this is the key phrase, flowers, truffles and a first time X cruiser - trying to make a very large impression and it didn't quite go as planned? Kinofdc Posted June 8, 2016 #55 Share Posted June 8, 2016 You people are overzealous and judgmental, quickly transmogrifying this thread into a lynch mob pandemonium without any sense of moderation. All of Constance's complaints are well-justified. And I doubt she would even mention the "carry-on" issue if it's the only mishap. But since she's already composing the post, might as well get it out. And despite her well-found frustration, she makes sure to include thoughtful notes about her butler. Kinofdc Posted June 8, 2016 #56 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Some of the Michael's Club concierges we know well have suggested to us sending pre-cruise emails to their more personal email address. It has worked out quite well. Even though I sent out the same email to the shore side concierges almost simultaneously, the aforesaid MC concierges have mentioned to me that they usually receive my direct email at least a few days prior to the layered, filtered request from the shore side people. nmg85 Posted June 9, 2016 #57 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Suck it up and understand that things happen and the world really doesn't revolve around you. These are all minor issues in the grand scheme of things.

ChucktownSteve Posted June 9, 2016 #62 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) We're going to be on the Summit again in two months. This time instead of an OV we'll be in AQ1. Never did a suite. But I doubt I would adopt their attitude even when things aren't exactly as expected. I just re-read the OP after reading all the other comments, my immediate thought this time was a quote from "Alice in Wonderland". "Off with their heads!" Fish Lover Posted June 11, 2016 #63 Share Posted June 11, 2016 Since when have these boards permitted a bunch of whiney children to post? The original poster said herself that the mishaps were minor. She paid an enormous (in my opinion) up charge to be in a suite. Celebrity provides a list of extra amenities that one can expect when on travels in a suite. The OP didn't receive them, even though she was proactive prior to embarking. She should ask for it to be corrected asap. Why should she wait until the next day? I've seen people sulk over a keychain prize at trivia! Now that is absurd. I don't know how many of you travel in suites (I do not, I travel CC or Aqua, because that is what I can afford), but you simply should not throw stones at someone who does and then belittle them for expecting what they were promised. Fish Lover Posted June 11, 2016 #66 Share Posted June 11, 2016 Such First World problems we have!!! Last time I checked these were forums about cruising. Certainly not a "first world " problem (whatever that is exactly). However, if you wish to discuss solving world hunger, cancer, climate change, or other life endangering issues, there are many forums with that as their subject. However, if you wish to discuss solving world hunger, cancer, climate change, or other life endangering issues, there are many forums with that as their subject. It got a little heavy there. I was making a lighthearted comment regarding complaints about something that even those of us fortunate enough to even be able to consider a cruise might think were a little over the top to complain about. I agree with those that say if something is promised it should be delivered, I am just not sure that I would complain about it to others. I wish I hadn't made my flip comment, I thought these board were a little more fun ... because you're right, these board are about cruises and the OP was just talking about their experience. I agree they were entitled to all of the amenities listed for the suite. However if the items were so minor to the OP and they had a fantastic butler, why couldn't the butler have addressed the issues instead of going to the Hotel Director to make heads roll? Or were they just trying to impress their first time X cruising companion. If the OP's original post was done tongue in cheek, I wished they were more clear about it. :)
rushedmom Posted June 12, 2016 #69 Share Posted June 12, 2016 For embarkation/disembarkation I put a label on "anything that moves" - that includes my handbag [purse] which I would never intentionally let go of. I have, and would, however, leave our carry-ons in the care of the Michael's Club concierge - locked of course. Has not been an issue for our past three cruises because we have been escorted to our suite long before lunch in Luminae and we have had the reassurance of being able to secure valuables in our safe before going to lunch. I was reading this quickly and thought you said husband... lol But I do have a question is it ok to take your carryon with you to Luminae for lunch? SunnyAJ Posted June 13, 2016 #70 Share Posted June 13, 2016 OP, you do have me curious as to why a rollaway was needed with two persons in the Suite. I did not know that a rollaway could be ordered. I sometimes travel with my two daughters (3 persons in a stateroom), and the sofa bed is not comfortable in any way. One of my daughters and I have each tried the sofa bed, and we ended up having a pallet made up on top of the sofa, instead. I wonder if a rollaway would be more comfortable? If you have the space (a suite) then rollaways are definitely available. We've requested one in a Celebrity Suite and they bring it in at turndown and take it away in the morning. We had one son on the sofa bed and other in the rollaway. He said it was very comfortable! As long as you request the rollaway when booking, they'll reserve it for you. They didn't bring ours in until night.

Fish Lover Posted June 13, 2016 #74 Share Posted June 13, 2016 Fist off, having the butler "fix" what the concierge should have arranged for is just that...a fix. The HD should have been told because that is the only way to attempt to make a permanent change for the problem...the pre-boarding concierge.
