S.O.C.I.O.C.A.T.s Posted April 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Heard that they are replacing or have replaced Bistro on 5 on the Reflection with a Sushi bar. Fact or fiction? Going on Reflection in fall and really enjoy the Bistro
QE2_Fan Posted April 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Yes it's true. Do a search for Sushi on 5 there is already a lengthy thread on the topic and first hand reviews! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Rare keesar Posted April 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) The Bistro on 5 on the Reflection was replaced in February with a sushi style restaurant. There were not many people utilizing the old Bistro and a change was made by management. Edited April 30, 2016 by keesar

bigbenboys Posted April 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2016 There calling it a pop up restaurant. We thought about eating at Sushi on 5, but ate at The Porch instead on our 2 sea days. I loved The Porch. The cost is $30 pp.
Desertbelle Posted April 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2016 We ate at Sushi on 5 on the Reflection earlier this month and it was very good. The Lobster Ramen was excellent. We tried to get back to eat there again but we never had the time. I wanted the Lobster Ramen one more time!!

welly world Posted April 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 30, 2016 When we were there in March, it was busy every day for lunch. We didn't go until the last day and we're sorry that we waited so long. It was the best!!!!!
bothluv2cruise Posted April 30, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 30, 2016 We were on the Reflection 4/9 thru 4/25 and had lunch twice at Sushi on 5. We enjoyed the service and the food. Their drinks were good too, especially the spicy grey goose one!

starri Posted April 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Do they have hot sake? Their a la carte prices are ridiculous, but I like hot sake if the ramen isn't too expensive.
Rare keesar Posted May 1, 2016 #13 Share Posted May 1, 2016 FACT. Happened the first of the year. Actually, the change occurred when we were on board during Valentine's Day Week. We had a crepe early in the week but when we left, it was no more Bistro on 5.
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted May 1, 2016 #14 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Is it only sushi or are there other types of food available?

Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted May 1, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Maybe "X on 5" v3.0 will work. The crepes didn't. And whatever followed obviously didn't. $5 didn't. $7 didn't. $10 sure didn't. The one constant in our visits was that the service as incredibly slow -- even when we were the only people in the restaurant! If that keeps up with sushi, it won't be fit to eat! gopro63 Posted May 1, 2016 #19 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Having at the Porcha place simular to that, does not do it for me, but eventually the Sushi will be changed again, as long as they do not change the coffee blanc area I am good
starri Posted May 1, 2016 #20 Share Posted May 1, 2016 It looks good, but those prices are insane. I'd be more inclined to try it if it had a smaller menu with a flat cover charge like Bistro.
beaveh Posted May 3, 2016 #21 Share Posted May 3, 2016 oh, that's such a shame. We are new to celebrity ( only one cruise on Shillouette so far ) and we have Reflection booked for August. We are still finding our feet with the do's and don't s on Celebrity but last time we found the self-service restaurant very busy on embarkation day. I had been reading about Bistro on 5 and was looking forward to 'muscles and chips' on embarkation day this time round. It looks like this won't happen now. I have seen people say the MDR is sometimes open on embarkation day / sea days. Does this ever extend to Blu being open as well? ..or is it going to be another crush in the self-service restaurant! You could eat lunch before embarking and then you wouldn't have to worry about eating until dinner. It seems a shame to start a wonderful cruise with such a negative impression as being crushed in the buffet. We found Sushi on 5 to be delicious and I never spoke to anyone who tried it who didn't enjoy it. The Lobster Ramen is worth the visit on its own. Not on port days, however. They've apparently also been testing the MDR being open to CC guests on embarkation day.

starri Posted May 3, 2016 #25 Share Posted May 3, 2016 Blu is not open for lunch at all, only breakfast and dinner. Really? I could have sworn it was on our most recent cruise, but we weren't AQ, so I may have just gotten that impression somehow. I wonder why they'd try the MDR for the CCs at embarkation and not give the AQs the same or similar.
