Sugaree5335 Posted August 10, 2016 #77 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Get an Ozark Trail tumbler from Walmart, less than $10 and proven to hold ice longer than Yeti's or any other. You need to order online, as they go VERY quick when they go on the shelf at Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-30-Ounce-Double-Wall-Vacuum-Sealed-Tumbler/49772708 I love my Yeti, but plan on picking up a couple of these for our cruise. I'd love to have the big Yeti with a screw-on lid like was posted a little bit further up, but just can't justify paying $90 for it right now. TerReuv Posted August 10, 2016 #78 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Also heard Yeti is suing Ozark because of copyright infringement....same design and even the Lids are interchangeable on both.....At $9.74 each Im going to buy a few more as spares True! They have also filed a suit against Zhejiang for the same thing. I also bought 3 from Wal-Mart today. My DH got a Yeti for his birthday and loves it! He manages a body shop and has been out in this 90 plus weather and it helps him get lots of water. We have had ice stay in it outside for a couple of days. Wish I could find a Ozark koozie for his fishing trip next month. They don't have them on the Wal-Mart site. Also, the 20 oz. are out in my area. CeeJayPonz Posted August 10, 2016 #79 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Ozark Trail from Walmart - $9.65 - keeps ice longer than Yeti. I'm just sayin! 4 for 1 any day and if it's stolen, no big deal.

Agreed. People are just paying for the YETI name. I actually have the 30oz RTIC which was 20.00 but I bought it before the Ozark came out. Our Wal mart just got a large shipment in this week and they were gone in a day  Edited August 10, 2016 by ryano
Micahs Grandad Posted August 10, 2016 #81 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Maybe a crew member or a passenger saw it unattended and brought it to guest services. Sorry it happened to you, but I never leave anything unattended in a bathroom. If I have something with me, either I take it in the stall with me or I go back to the cabin. Thinking a crew member might have thought it was discarded also.
linbobky Posted August 10, 2016 #82 Share Posted August 10, 2016 64 oz - $89.99! What? I don't see the attraction. And it is also made in China!

SeagoingMom Posted August 10, 2016 #84 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Yeti's are so worth it.. well, not being cursed, but the price you have to pay for them. lol Seriously, so sorry someone took it. I will make sure not to take mine cruising. My Husband loves his too. Just for the folks that wonder why we love them so much, a cup of piping hot coffee poured at 8am will still be hot at noon... no, really, it will. I am sure it would keep cold drinks super cold a really long time too, just haven't tried it yet with mine. I'm sure its the reason the Yeti ice chests start around 300$ too. So it's an expensive Thermos, then?
Jjzbl Posted August 10, 2016 #85 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Thieves are the worst, you should be able to set your things down or even go back to retrieve an item you left behind and either find it still there or at least find that it's been turned in. What's wrong with people? For those of you who want to criticize OP for spending so much on a cup, get over yourselves, people are free to spend their money as they see fit. Would you feel better if she'd only lost a $25 tervis cup or a $10 cup from walmart? The shocking and disappointing thing about her post wasn't the cost of her cup but the audacity of someone to just walk off with someone else's cup because they decided they wanted it. Love them! Had to order the 20 oz online and picked up in store. Have been seeing several of the 30 ozs in store. I plan on getting ours personalized and taking at least the 20 oz ones with us! tbkb92 Posted August 11, 2016 #90 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Watch the yeti vs Ozark on youtube. The 30 oz yeti is about $40 and the Ozark at Wal Mart is $10. They performed virtually the same. Ice lasted the same amount of time. They also compared the cozies which kept the drinks the same temperature. Love the Ozarks I got at Wal-Mart! 30 ozs were $9.94 and 20 ozs. were $7.94. Going to have ours personalized and take at least the 20 oz ones with us!

Sorry it happened to you, but I never leave anything unattended in a bathroom. If I have something with me, either I take it in the stall with me or I go back to the cabin. I accidentily left my custom tervis (with my name on it and seashore motiff) under my chair while out watching a Dive-in movie. I immediately went back and asked AND IT WAS GONE!! I asked at guest services to see if it had been turned in and they said no. I then went back and asked around to the employees on the lido deck who all told me the same thing. THEY DO NOT TURN IN FOUND CUPS THEY JUST THROW THEM AWAY. There are so many that they clog up guest services so they are not turned in. I am guessing the nice ones are "re-gifted" to themselves.. . CeeJayPonz Posted August 11, 2016 #92 Share Posted August 11, 2016 These tumblers are extremely popular right now and even though it is wrong to not return them, some people don't see it that way. We live in a different world these days when wrong is the new right.

BellaSweet Posted August 11, 2016 #94 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Why are people so shady? Ugh.. I just got a new pair of Coach sandals.. BF said "Oh you can wear them on our cruise!" I'm like ":eek:NO..they'd walk away the minute I hopped into the ocean!" haha Only cheap $3 flips on the cruise for me!
wareaglefan Posted August 11, 2016 #95 Share Posted August 11, 2016 The other night on 20/20 or one of those I saw a comparison between Yeti and Ozark Camping one from WalMart. They put equal amounts of ice in both and waited 24 hours, then rechecked. They were both equal. Ozark one is $10. My granddaughter bought 2 from Sams Club the other day and her ice stays forever. They were 2 for $20. I bought a Tervis that I don't care for at all. Doesn't keep ice well at all! Sorry that happened to you, check out the other ones. falkcor Posted August 11, 2016 #96 Share Posted August 11, 2016 I've never heard of Yeti..... i have, but until i read further i was wondering why anybody would want a cup with something like this on it: i honestly was thinking OP picked such an obscure type of cup so as to signal 'this is not your cup' - like i 'personalize' or pick obscure luggage for the same reason... the stuff you learn on cruise critic... :o
BeagleOne Posted August 11, 2016 #97 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Labels, decals, and engraving won't do any good if the thief just keeps the stolen cup in their cabin for use after the cruise is over.
lovecarnivalcruises Posted August 11, 2016 #98 Share Posted August 11, 2016 To the "lady" who took my Yeti cup from the Casino restroom on the April 9 Carnival Freedom. Obviously you don't know about the curse inflicted on those who dare to steal a treasured Yeti. You will gain 40 pounds. (One for each $ I paid for the cup.) Your butt will double in size. Your feet will swell and you'll get a cold sore every time you drink from it. Your teeth will turn yellow and crack. Your hair will turn gray and fall out. You'll sprout a black mustache and chin hairs. The next time you find an item on a cruise, do the honorable thing and turn it in to lost and found and I might consider lifting the curse. I blame myself for being so stupid when I left it unattended for 5 minutes. I used to have trust in my fellow cruisers, never again. I'm having the new one engraved with "STOLEN FROM (my name)" and it will never get to enjoy cruising! This is great!!!:D
