rexy69 Posted May 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2016 We are booked! The Valor was our very first cruise, back in 2007, and now we will finally get to go back and re-live the fun all over again! Plus, we just got upgraded to an Ocean View. Things just keep getting better :) Our cabin is right across from the elevators, Mid Ship.....has anyone ever had any problems with noise? Also, the deck plan shows an empty space beside our cabin, I'm wondering what is in that space?

I haven't sailed her yet, but she's definitely on my radar for my next cruise. I have sailed next to "empty spaces" before and found them to either be service elevators or cabin steward utility closets (ice, glasses, paper products, etc.). Either way, both were better than noisy cabin neighbors. :D Hope you have a fantastic cruise!
hutch8891 Posted May 12, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2016 Just got off the Valor today from a 4 night to Freeport and Nassau. Second time on the ship and first cruise from the drydock. There were a few kinks that needed to be taken care of since it was just from the drydock as they were still working on it during the cruise. Still a great ship and cruise. Have Fun.. Wish we were still on it.. LoL...
Guindalf Posted May 12, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2016 Will be on her on Sunday! First Carnival cruise since a horrible experience on the Sensation in 2003, so I hope it goes well. We have different expectations since then, so looking forward to a good time. We could only get an oveanview and we are normally balcony cruisers. evandbob Posted May 13, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 13, 2016 We sail July 3rd....Thanks for everyone's response. Sounds like The Valor is well-liked. :) I had 6 great or very good cruises on the Valor and then the last one was poor - terrible service in the MDR late dining room, with our entrees coming out after the waiters entertainment was over, broken TV and clogged shower drain upon entering my cabin on the very 1st day, some other minor issues. A hint to avoid some of the traffic that occurs during the photo taking on the aft of deck 5 after MDR dining: exit the dining room, go up 1 deck to deck 4, enter that bar/entertainment/karoake area and bear to the right. Go through the corridor, the 1st stairway takes you up to deck 5 near the taste bar, the 2nd stairway will bring you to the elevator area just outside the casino and coffee shop. Enjoy your cruise! doone Posted May 14, 2016 #12 Share Posted May 14, 2016 I sailed the Valor in 2009, great cruise, great ship. We had a verandah cabin, mid ships, perfect location. Enjoy!
habari Posted June 6, 2016 #13 Share Posted June 6, 2016 I would like to get reservations for the steakhouse but would like to know which nights are the formal nights so I do not book on those nights. We are sailing on August 19th for a 8 night on the Valor. Can anyone help me with the answer to my question?:)
Rare mesci14 Posted June 6, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 6, 2016 usually the first sea day going and a sea day on the return unless there is a special holiday in there...
jordanaire Posted June 6, 2016 #15 Share Posted June 6, 2016 You can wait until you board to make reservations. We always go to Guest Services and ask to see the week's menu so we can then decide which night to go to the steakhouse.

wnc Posted June 7, 2016 #18 Share Posted June 7, 2016 DW and I took a Nov. 2015 western cruise on Valor. My all time favorite cruise and we are platinum on Carnival. We have been on newer and bigger ships including on other lines but I really liked the Valor.

cruiseonthebrain Posted June 7, 2016 #21 Share Posted June 7, 2016 Time to step up to a nicer ship. Why are you on the Carnival board if all you do is make snide comments? If you cruise Carnival then you are a hypocrite. If you don't you need to get a life. Just saying... I

jayscore Posted June 8, 2016 #23 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Just got off the Conquest last month. As far as I can tell, aside from the Farcus design, all the Conquest class of ships are laid out the same. Valor is no different. Regardless, you WILL have a good time!;)
