Yes unfortunately I heard back straight away too but they advised that as my cruise was only 9 days out, I was too late - has to be 14. Everything is electronic so couldn't really see why but that's the rules. I guess. [emoji16]

Do you get the shareholder credit in addition to any other cabin credit they are offering? I read the Carnival pdf on their web site and it didn't seem to exclude this.

Yes, the shareholder credit is not offset by any other promotions or deals. But you must follow the instructions, especially the timetable, to the letter. It will post as a credit on your shipboard account. It cannot be used for casino play or to pay gratuities, but otherwise is available for anything else. We've used it several times with no hitches or surprises.

From the P&O website FAQ's:

Q. If I already have on board spending money, would I still be entitled to shareholder benefit?

< Back

Yes. Shareholder benefit is granted in addition to any on board spending money already given.

Hi Fellow Cruisers, I have been reading that most of you have E-mailed your shareholders benefit form to CCL, I phoned early Dec. and was told I had to fax mine in. What was the E-mail you used, I'll try it. Are their any more perks for being a shareholder?

You all seem to have been fairly lucky - I have now over the past week and a bit faxed as instructed, phoned 3 times to 2 different numbers I was given, emailed to the address I was given by princess and now phoned again and have been given yet another email address (the one I have just seen Rosie has posted) so am extremely frustrated by the process!!!!! Zero corro has been received except for the wrong email with the stock standard reply stating received my email yada yada yada!

I have used the Shareholder benefit with P&O and other Carnival brands quite a number of times and it has always been a quick and easy process, just need your latest share holding information to e-mail through:)

Can you please clarify for me as I'm in Australia.   Can you use get the obc for owning 100 shares of carnival for sailing on P&O cruises within Australia or is it only carnival and princess?

thanks

Kayla

Hi Kayla, yes if your a CCL shareholder you can get OBC for your P&O Cruises.

In saying this Im trying to get my OBC currently for our cruise on the Aria in Sept. Talk about put me through the hoops, never had any dramas with getting OBC with Princess before but this is a whole new ball game.

Cheers

Thanks Johnno have recently purchased shares waiting on the paperwork have both p&o and Princess Cruises to request obc for. Let me know if there is anything I can do to avoid the drama 😊

Hope it all goes well for you and the dollars hit your account soon.

Cheers

Hi, I'm interested in buying some Carnival shares, but as they're a US company, did you guys need to purchase through a broker or is there a way to do it yourself? Thanks.

Tracey.

I bought my Carnival shares through ANZ Share Trading. They were very helpful. The share price was in the $50+ range, but has now fallen to around US$27. You need to purchase 100 shares.

Aus Traveller,

You wouldn't be able to tell me the ASX code would you please? I did a search and several different possibilities came up. Carnival Group, Carnival Corp and Carnival PLC.

Is it CCL:US? Thanks.

Tracey.

Hi Tracey

It is my understanding that there is Carnival on both the US and the UK market.  I purchased my US shares via Stake (they are allowing kiwi's on the Aussie site till the launch in NZ later this month).  It took about two days to set up and then another 2 to get the money transferred.

It is a great time to be buying the shares - they have halved in value since I bought them but not worried as they will go up + I have enough cruises planned to more than get my money back through OBC.

Look for CCL with the picture of a red flag with a blue centre.
