Princess Clarifies Suite Amenities Rollout

Princess Cruises

Recommended Posts

Sorry. the information in your post sounds great but I am very gun shy.

Is there someway you can verify that you do indeed represent Princess Cruises?

 Face it - there's nothing that the original poster, Princess Cruises or anyone else can do to make anyone trust anything. I still don't understand why all you people sail such an un-trusthworthy cruise line.

Correction, BDJAM. I wasn't accusing Princess Cruises of being untrustworthy. I was just questioning whether the alleged Princess PR person actually represented Princess Cruises.

Even though the content and general manner of the post was polished and professional, I just did not see any evidence that this disembodied missive came from Princess Cruises. Believe me, I would be ecstatic if it did.

With all due respect, If we are questioning the legitimacy of the OP how does that make Princess "un-trusthworthy".? We are simply trying to validate the OP. I also notice the OP has visited CC since they posted this thread. Maybe they are contacting LS. Or maybe just watching the game that they started.

Notice in this thread RCI asked LS to post their statement. Certainly leaves out the question whether it truly came from RCI!

I don't think bdjam was really saying that anyone called Princess untrustworthy, just being a smart (@#$) to lighten everyone up. Correct me if I am wrong please.

I understand, we all get too caught up and serious over trivial things. ;)

Thank you Colo Cruiser. I'm en-lightened now. ;) (I think???).

At the risk that my posting will prove one side "right" over the other, I've verified that the information was posted by a Public Relations Staff Member at Princess Cruise Lines.

Cruise Critic would prefer that cruise lines contact us directly and have a staff member post for them.

This is an anonymous venue. You have no idea who anyone is. As a matter of fact, did you know my name really isn't Laura?

Thanks Laura and Princess PR!!!

Great idea to post on CC. That's the kind of helpful, unambiguous information that customers want to hear.

Two comments regarding your front-office operations:

First, the press release that was removed from princess.com, "Princess Suite Amenities Surround Passengers with Luxury," was also very informative. I'm hoping you put that comprehensive, detailed list of suite/mini-suite amenities back on the Princess website in some fashion. A common question on these boards is in regards to those amenities, so having easy access to that information on your website would be a big plus.

Also, I'm hoping your information makes its way to the Princess customer service phone representatives. It's frustrating to call Princess with questions and receive inaccurate information. For example, I was told by a representative last month that all the amenities were already available on all ships. BTW, it would be nice to communicate with Princess via the internet as well as over the phone. That's my preferred method of communicating with many companies that I deal with. Any plans to add that capability to your website?

Thanks again! :) :)

Just to put things into perspective, I was in a mini-suite on the Caribbean Princess from 10/8 to 10/15. Here's what I noticed:

Pillows/Menu - Pillows yes, pillow menus, No

Champagne on embarkation - Yes

Massage Showerheads - No (don't know if mini-suites are getting them)

Mattresses – No

Bed Linens – Yes

Mini-Suite Luxury Towels – I don't know....it's been a couple of years since our last Princess cruise. :)

Bath Amenities – I think so.

Since we didn't get the new mattress or massage shower head, I complained and received a 30% credit. JUST KIDDING!!!! :D We were already booked when the new perks were announced so in reality, we got more than we expected. The only things that could have improved our cruise was better weather and winning in the casino!!

Happy Cruising!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering what kind of "proof" you think anyone could provide on a message board? Maybe a scanned copy of their paystub? It's rather difficult to prove who anyone on a message board is. I'm not doubting the Princess post. I'm questioning the ability of providing proof.

We all know Princess is in the process of rolling out the new amenities. They'll be completed whenever possible regardless of the post. I'm sure the poster isn't personally responsible for every aspect of the rollout and can't be held accountable if something should delay the schedule they provided. So does it really matter in the long run?

Thanks once again, Laura  , um Community Manager. I don't think it is a case of "right" side versus "wrong" side. I think it is more of doing due diligence to ensure a poster is not another one of those ubiquitous trolls.

In any case, I am happy that the poster is indeed a Princess rep. It's nice to know they are listening and responding.

Too, too funny. Love the "scanned copy of their paystub" part of your post.

It's nice to know that Princess is actually reading this board. Also nice to know the status of things with respect to the added amenities. That way we know what to expect. I too booked my mini suite prior to the announcement of the added amenities so any of it is a bonus to me.

We are booked into two mini suites for 3/11/06 so I have been very interested in this thread. It will be our first cruise on Princess after cruising on NCL, RCCL, CCL and DCL. Can someone tell me what exactly is a pillow menu? I am assuming that it is a menu so you can order different kinds of pillows to suit your sleeping needs, but that is just a guess.

The "proof" came from "lance". CC prefers that the lines go through them when posting. I am sure the reason being is that it does not turn into trying to prove and or disprove the validity of the poster. For me it was not who is right and who is wrong. It was all about is it from Princess. I am a little surprised that posters were willing to except this as fact. This is a message board. A message board that anyone can make up any name and start posting as whomever they want to be. I notice some of the posters that did not question the sincerity of the poster, are the same ones that are quick to discredit the negative post coming from a first time poster. I do not give any posters with a 1 post history much credence. Whether there name is Princess Pr or Bugs Bunny.

I am excited to know that it did come from Princess and that they do monitor the boards!!

Princess PR….. I am sailing on the Golden in cabin # E728.….If you would like leave me a case of champagne and a case of wine I will be sure to write a very positive review upon my return!!:D Of course, I am kidding!:p

Thank you, Laura, this is exactly what I was hoping would happen--that someone who monitors the board could confirm this poster is real. :) Now we'll know in the future that if this username posts here, we can trust the info! Very cool! And thanks to Princess for helping clarify what's going on, I really appreciate it. :)

Cruise182, I'm booked in E728 for September 9, 2006! Try not to use MY new amenities too much. And if you don't finish all the bottles of champagne and wine, just leave them in the refrigerator with a note - "To be opened September 9, 2006.":D Thanks!

FYI, the mattress was great, and the duvet and luxury linens were OUTSTANDING! We had the upgrades on the 10/8 CB. The only thing that was not yet onboard were the luxury towels and the pillow menu. And our cabin steward brought us the pillows we wanted on request.
