Rare cruisestitch Posted May 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2016 All this discussion of the Standard, Select, Classic, Premium, Specialty drinks has reminded me of a favorite quote from Alice: "'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'" It seems that Celebrity copywriters use the same seven words over and over again, and they mean, well, they never really get defined, so I guess they mean whatever Celebrity chooses them to mean. The seven words are Classic Specialty Premium Elite Select Interactive Priority And you know what happened to poor Humpty Dumpty:eek:

afto Posted May 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Don't forget "modern" and "luxury"!
QE2_Fan Posted May 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) ROFL. Too funny, but completely agree. The marketing teams buzz words! Even the description for the Standard drinks package in the Cruise Planner leaves you wondering ..... "Standard Package Prices Starting From* $45.00 USD Adult per day ADD TO CART Overview Choose from Premium and Classic Packages in both spirited and non-spirited varieties, or a new Standard Package of value-priced spirits." I think that one is less Humpty Dumpty and more Round and Round the Merry Go Round [emoji15][emoji848][emoji37] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Edited May 21, 2016 by QE2_Fan

Mr. Click Posted May 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 21, 2016 I keep waiting for modern luxury to meet modern technology.. so far, no luck with that one, at least not for real.
Rare cruisestitch Posted May 21, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted May 21, 2016 I should have added "locally sourced" to my list, although we don't see that used very often by Celebrity, but apparently they mean "it was local to someone, just not to us" in their Humpty Dumpty definition. kenevenpar Posted May 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2016 And let's not forget "previously frozen fresh squeezed OJ". I ordered it that way at breakfast and our waiter was laughing, calling it the same when he served it. :D
Rob the Cruiser Posted May 21, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 21, 2016 We love Blu but I still don't know what "clean cuisine" is. How is "Tender steak is served with a flavorful truffle vinaigrette instead of a heavy béarnaise" clean? Are burgers and fries dirty cuisine?
