Rare mking8288 Posted June 6, 2016 Author #151 Share Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) Welcome Message from T-Mobile to Bermuda (displayed as the Caribbean Island) ... on my backup / emergency lines, mainly to make those 911/999/110 calls, anywhere in the world (almost) with offline maps & other goodies on the device. Welcome Message from Fi Network (yes, we have full services in Bermuda) to Jamaica ... see those rates, that's what we are paying/being charged A quick benchmark about upload & download speed, looks slow & it is a lot slower than what we are used to - but, compared to satellite connections on the ship ... this is great, very good, etc. - happy ! Relative signal strength of both T-Mobile (Fi Network) and ship's WiFi (5GHz) This is Fi Network's cellular signal at St. George's - Bermuda While on ship's WiFi network, this "meter" screen is your friend via the browser, keeping track of your data usage & online sessions - remember to log-out when not in use, even when you have the unlimited data plan - as a matter of fair usage so that others can take better advantage of the slower/limited bandwidth connection on the ship. For those sailing soon/next on the Breakaway ... this should hopefully help you plan ahead on how to use data & text, maybe do some WiFi voice calling (at free or inexpensive rates) - any questions related or items needing clarification, feel free to ask & will make best efforts to answer & help. Enjoy your Bermuda cruise. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk Edited June 6, 2016 by mking8288

Rare CTSandy Posted June 9, 2016 #153 Share Posted June 9, 2016 CTSandy, deck 5 midship is nice & quiet, easy walk for gangway to Dockyard, only using forward ones. Some of the sideway inside ones are very roomy, hardly felt the ship moving with 5 ft. seas or even when at 10 to 12 ft. Just wanted to let you know that they loved their room #5655 - at the end of the hallway aft, a small hall to the elevator and the stairs. Two 27 year olds felt it was the most convenient location in the ship - up the stairs to the Mixx Bar, Taste and Savor, and the elevator for the buffet. They also said they had the best steward on board - Wellington. Said he was amazing.
Maraprince Posted June 9, 2016 #154 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Are there enough activities for adults without children scheduled during the day and evening? MARAPRINCE

Rare mking8288 Posted June 10, 2016 Author #156 Share Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) CTSandy - thanks and yes, that little corridor is quiet, while being steps away from the elevators and up a deck or 2 to dining and down one for the gangway while @ Bermuda. They probably felt very little, if any, motion while the ship was moving - unlike someone we met staying on deck 14 & had "minor" issues with our sailing - one of the smoothest we had over the years going to/from Bermuda. We had a similar Inside on deck 13 in 2014 and no issues with folks hanging out in the elevator lobby or anyone running up & down the corridor. Anyone worry about motion sickness - deck 5, midship location near the AFT elevators would be the best choice, unlike being on deck 10 FWD (balcony) - there're virtually zero lateral or sideway motion. Some of the Oceanview staterooms (family category) nearby were huge, a lot bigger than the standard balconies on the BA - very roomy, DW wouldn't mind booking one & skip upgrading to the balcony next time. (Although, we need a break from the BA, rather sailing the GEM or Dawn/Jewel class ship if we go NCL again). That small hall behind the stairs was quite substantial, next to the crew access doors for their service area & sleeping cabins below the pax decks - we get friendly greetings by dozens of crew coming & going each way on a daily basis, LOL. Our RS was Joao (Joe) and he was excellent too, took care of everything & helpful, etc. MARAPRINCE - that's a "trick" question to ask, but we/I think so ... there's never enough time to do everything - even on sea days and once we landed, it's another world waiting to be explored. Cruising for us is to sometimes just relax and do absolutely nothing, get a little pampering - no cooking, no cleaning & no garbage disposal and no laundry. Gotta do that again, sooner than later ... looking at options for this Fall, but we tend to book last minute but plan ahead as frugal travelers - with some great fly-n-stay combos even for the busy summer months. On a cool evening, there're seats out on the Waterfront (still need a hoodie jacket for the breeze & chills) - a book or video on the iPad/tablet, set of decent headphones and a nice/tall beverage in hand, we would be happy - after dinner ... if we don't doze off. KSU Fan69 - Those are ship photos, regular priced @ $14.95 that they ring up first, before doing the 10 photo package pricing, then finally give us the 25% Platinum discount, as some said it's not given or available. We had the discount also last year & year before, at least on the Breakaway - no if's & but's. Edited June 10, 2016 by mking8288

Rare mking8288 Posted July 24, 2016 Author #161 Share Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) did you take any pix of the daily schedules? If you did yours might be the most recent I can see before my trip next month! We have the BA dailies 5/22-29/2016 and I remember someone posting from earlier in May. Surprised that there isn't anything newer. Also have the NCL shopping guides & sales fliers, but you really don't need or want those. Enjoy Bermuda next month ... wonderful islands & beautiful places, always something new & different to do. Let's see ... Edit - found it. Roy was solo sailing the same week on the BA and he posted them in PDF format, here it is - saving me from the work, LOL. He also wrote a nice review. Please give him credit & thumbs up - post #8 in the link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2381370 Now, we can resume the extended weekend hideaway on the South Jersey shores out of this brutal heatwave - so nice to be indoors & air-conditioned suite with 2 connecting rooms; and, plentiful of complimentary bottled water, free hi-speed broadband internet, etc. LOL. If there's something missing or you are looking for, post here & I will dig them up. Edited July 24, 2016 by mking8288

lucyintheskywithdiamonds Posted September 17, 2017 #163 Share Posted September 17, 2017 Lots of walking, no tour pictures on I-95 corridor. Yesterday morning, had a Code Alpha onboard, medical emergency. Crews are friendly and nice, saying hello as they are within 10 to 5 feet, as expected in their training and guidelines. Some are robotic, IMHO, but we do have some above & beyond. More later on after we get done with the cruise. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk thanks for the review.. has anyone noticed the kitchen staff is NOT wearing gloves?! very unsanitary NCL:mad:
