Ktuluorion Posted June 13, 2016 #51 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I would like more smoking areas and bring back skeet shooting. When did they have skeet shooting? Never seen that, but i'd love to do it on a cruise ship!
luvtheships Posted June 13, 2016 #52 Share Posted June 13, 2016 (edited) I would like more smoking areas and bring back skeet shooting. Actually you have a point there but then Again all of your posts are incredibly spot on[emoji41] Make the ship entirely smoking Unintended consequences.....and I love unintended consequences because they actually work many times....mostly if not all cabins will be booked by smokers Thus establishing protocol on other Ncl ships that will attract only non smokers....trust me this will happen. It's called social norms. Remember this thread is asking about 1 specific ship....so yep make it entirely smoking Edited June 13, 2016 by luvtheships

luvtheships Posted June 13, 2016 #57 Share Posted June 13, 2016 (edited) Yeah tell that social experiment to Carnival.....Oh wait they already tried that and bookings went right in to the toilet  I was waiting for the very predictable ccl paradise comment to surface and I purposely left it out of my post you quoted (another little social norm experiment at play) Also wasn't the paradise quite awhile ago? Times are different now as evidenced by the previously unthinkable non smoking areas on land that exist now....beaches. Restaurants. Bars. Hospitals. Office buildings. Just to name a few. Even some apt.. coop ...and ...condos don't allow smoking but whatever. Celebrity seems to be doing nicely though with smoke free casinos Regardless....I dislike the breakaway ship design and won't book an away ship again so im still all for the totally smoking new away #3 ship An all smoking ship will solve many of issues And btw your comparison to the paradise was off.... The purpose of making the away ship all smoking is to attract smokers as there would be no restrictions.....I made no mention of a totally non smoking ship....so no need to even bring up the paradise is there? But by normal process of elimination....smokers would flock to an all smoking away ship that could perhaps carry 5000 pax as opposed to say the Gem which would of course still have very restricted smoking areas and thankfully a casino that's easily avoided. you really should be in favor of my suggestion of a totally smoker friendly huge ship of the away class as it benefits you as a smoker. Rare blackwing Posted June 13, 2016 #58 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I would completely redesign the buffet areas. The long, narrow, crowded submarine like hallways with the multiple repeating stations is confusing. Some people don't realise (or care) that there is a line... they just shove on in there to get their food. I much prefer the design on the Royal Caribbean ships, where they have multiple islands. Very easy to navigate. A real locker room with free showers and steam room. On Getaway the free locker room doesn't even have a shower. Just some lockers and toilets. Who needs a locker when there is no shower? They did away with the locker room completely on Escape, they just have a toilet. I don't want to have to pay for a spa pass to use the showers and steam room. This is standard and free on other lines. I get up early in the morning to work out. It'd be nice if I could just take a steam and shower and then to to breakfast in the buffet. Eat by myself and read a book. Instead, on Escape I didn't want to go to breakfast dripping in sweat, so I have to go back to the room, shuffle around in the dark, take a shower, change and hope I didn't wake anybody up. This is a longstanding problem, but ENFORCE THE CHAIR HOG RESTRICTIONS. If it were up to me, I wouldn't even give people an hour. I'd say, someone from your party has to be at your chairs the whole time. Or at least be able to see the chairs from, say, the pool or the hot tub. The attendants should be more proactive in removing items after 15 minutes if somebody needs a chair. All items get brought to the Lost and Found on the pool deck. On the last night of the cruise, a free-for-all grab of free unclaimed items.

BreeYark Posted June 13, 2016 #61 Share Posted June 13, 2016 If I'm allowed to dream : Remove the casino (replace with virtual gambling on TV). Waterfront on 2 levels instead of just 1 (I just love the Waterfront!). Studios with a balcony and an outside Studio Lounge area. More room to sit down in the Atrium. dexddd Posted June 14, 2016 #65 Share Posted June 14, 2016 I was on the Norwegian Leeward in 1996 and could have sworn we did skeet shooting. Could have been. I know it was there on NCL in mid-1980s.
karuze Posted October 3, 2016 #66 Share Posted October 3, 2016 A pool in h2o we are not children in kiddie pools. I loved the spa pool but the smell of chlorine was very strong maybe move that to an open deck or ventilate it. how about a lounge with great music. Invest in a state of the art smoke removal system for the casino and stop the smoke from ruining the other venues.
CasinoCruzGirl Posted October 3, 2016 #67 Share Posted October 3, 2016 The waterfront is a waste of space most of the time. Hence why I'd like to see more and larger indoor lounges with unobstructed oceanviews. CasinoCruzGirl Posted October 3, 2016 #68 Share Posted October 3, 2016 Agree No more charge for room service Bigger balconies Disagree Laundromats Who goes on vacation to do laundry? no smoking indoors ...in fact add another smoking area on 6 so there is one on every floor of the 6-7-8 concept......period Lol I feel like this is a smoking thread. david5272 Posted October 3, 2016 #69 Share Posted October 3, 2016 I would like to see a midship elevator. Midship cabin locations on any of the NCL megaships are terrible locations for the lack of nearby elevators. Enjoyed that the Breakaway only had two elevators.....allowing for more stuff on floors. U book a cruise....expect to walk....simple idea if you are not handicapped

Red-Sol Posted October 3, 2016 #71 Share Posted October 3, 2016 Not sure if possible but I always thought it would be cool to have a specialty restaurant built below the water line. With some very very very strong plexiglass types of walls so you could peer out *into* the ocean. Some type of Spotlights at night.
Rob0519 Posted October 3, 2016 #72 Share Posted October 3, 2016 I sat on the Waterfront every day on the Escape and looked out over the ocean. I usually had no one within 20-30 feet of me. I didn't understand why more people didn't use that space during the day.
Rob0519 Posted October 3, 2016 #73 Share Posted October 3, 2016 * Mid-ship elevator or add one elevator to each bank. * Bigger venue than the atrium for many activities held there. * Slightly bigger balconies. * Larger or more pools and whirlpools * Self serve soft drink stations on the pool deck. If Disney and land casinos can afford to offer these, so can NCL.
DMH15 Posted October 3, 2016 #74 Share Posted October 3, 2016 (edited) Lol I feel like this is a smoking thread. Geeze Louise Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app It is what the 81% of us Americans care a lot about. But I never say smoke free 100%. Because I have a SIL I adore who smokes and I know I care about her and her feelings too. I just would like a casino I can enjoy without smoke. I do not want to take away the smoker's casino, because basically that is what the casino on NCL is. I just would like to enjoy myself without breathing smoke. I also really understand how truly hard it is for smokers that want to quit. I have battled weight issues for years and am really working hard to change that. I am seeing great progress. But I had to be ready. Some smokers love it. I had an Aunt who loved smoking and had one or two going at all times. The woman did not sleep. Ok. Rambling now. Sorry.
