jimb98 Posted June 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2016 Yes, it is important. Someone must know which lager is on draught on the Discovery by now. Yes the Cruise News is important and I'm aghast at the idea there is only one table at the casino but the idea of drinking Heineken for a week is appalling. Please tell me it's something else. Pensioncruiser Posted June 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2016 It will change over a season, supplies in the Caribbean will probably be different to those in Europe, so you may or may not, in your opinion, be lucky.

FIFE1 Posted June 22, 2016 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Does anyone have an up to date bar menu? What are prices for the specialty: restaurants :):):)
Julessmiles Posted June 22, 2016 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Ok If any of you are on FB, there is an unofficial FB Tui Discovery FB Group & the bar menus are all on there but to answer the questions on here, the beers & ciders that are available on the AI package are:- Draught - Fosters, John Smiths, Strongbow Bottled - Corona, Budwesier, Peroni, Guiness, Becks & non-alcoholic Kora La & Surf & Turf are an additional £19.95 per person but well worth it. If you eat in the Glass House in the evening, you can cook on the stones for an additional £9.95 (from memory) & you can design your own pizza (not sure of the price but probably similar) and you can chose tapas for starter & a main course at no extra charge & also sweets available so it's basically just a supplement for steak or pizza. The Italian restaurant and 47 are both excellent. Hope this helps
ilstonio Posted July 13, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2016 Greetings...looking to book The Discovery for October. Drinks package is £360 and not sure if worth it. I like a beer and will drink in day & eve but Mrs will prob have a cocktail and glass o wine with dinner. Do you know what beer prices like and drinks generally? Rare Jim The Scot Posted July 13, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) Not long back and had the drinks package... excellent/ substantial drinks list Without drinks package a pint would cost you £3-70,spirits £3-90 If you look at the thread Discovery Reviews page 2 you,ll see full drinks list and priced Edited July 13, 2016 by Jim The Scot
davecttr Posted July 13, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 13, 2016 Pizza free in the Glasshouse but please don't go there as it will become too crowded. Discovery also has an extensive range of bottled beers in the Live room but IMO they are not worth it at £2 supplement per bottle. Plus I could re-write the list for them to include some decent beers  Next year everyone on board will be AI and I hope they do not dumb down the choices. Yes more choice on the AI. I am a beer drinker at home but did not like the John smiths offering so mostly drank cocktails and wine with Becks for volume. I did not see much of this alleged, cheap spirits for cocktails as I sat at the bar a lot. For example they were using Gordons as the basis for gin cocktails. I got friendly with the bar staff and tried cuba libres with various types of Bacardi and even captain morgans, all free of course.:) Stevie - I submitted a review yesterday morning but it has not appeared yet  Best cruise for years, I really enjoyed it, nice ship, nice crew etc etc. Better than P&O IMO. Have already booked for next year. Looking forward to the rumoured summer Canary Islands cruises and the winter ones based in Thailand ;)

Unbelievable as it may sound, it was a £2.00 supplement if on the drinks package. I'm still waiting for Thomsons to explain how they might justify this rip off. ilstonio Posted July 15, 2016 #22 Share Posted July 15, 2016 This is all helpful. £3.70 for non alcoholic? You think they realised? A right scam. Reviews on here much more favourable than Cruisec Critic main reviews which seem a bit harsh for an inaugural where you're bound to get a few teethers. Well pleased with what I'm reading here. I'm going for a Disco

I'm going for a Disco Notice that of the 21 reviews so far only 2 or 3 reviewers have actually posted on the forums and most have joined in 2016, presumably so they could criticise discovery. I find it interesting that the ship is being criticised for 'failings' that equally apply to almost all cruise ships  ps - where is my 4 star review, I submitted it 2 days ago
