kaycee17 Posted June 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2016 I keep seeing on here that the balcony is not accessible when the upper berth is pulled down in the mini suites (that accommodate 4 people). How inaccessible is the balcony? Is it that you can't open the door? That you can't walk out the door? Could you stoop or crawl to get out? We are traveling with our 8yo and 10yo children and would like to enjoy the balcony in the evenings after they go to bed. We are in C336 on the Regal. Crawling might work if you can reach the door latch with the bed lowered.
coo359a2 Posted June 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2016 We have had no problem bending over to walk under the upper bed to open the balcony door. When we were on the Regal Princess, our cabin had the sofa plus the upper bed made up each night. For that we just rolled across the sofa to open the door to the balcony. Will have this same set up for our Dec cruise on the Regal.
lmkucala Posted June 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2016 What about mini suites that sleep 3. Is the balcony accessible when the sofa is folded out into a bed?
GweninTX Posted June 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2016 It is really obstructed with the beds down!
kaycee17 Posted July 29, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted July 29, 2016 Update: the mini suite was plenty big enough for the 4 of us and the balcony was not blocked at all.
cherylandtk Posted July 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 29, 2016 Looks the new sofas used on the Regal and Royal don't open the same way as the sofas used before...those fold out from the front and cover the space in front of the sliding door. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=46207129&postcount=
