vegasbaby19 Posted June 23, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted June 23, 2016 Weather was fabulous. We had clear skies and very little rain. Temps in 60's during day and high 50's in evening. Had a night or two with wind which made it colder, but other than that it was truly beautiful.
vegasbaby19 Posted June 23, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted June 23, 2016 I did not over pack, but several in our group did :-) Wish I'd taken a couple more short sleeve options since we had such great weather, but we did laundry before the land portion so it all worked out well

bubbycruises Posted July 4, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Quick question. I have heard that the passengers dress much more casually on the Alaska Cruises, is that true? We have cruised many times and I am aware that the dining room dress requirements to not tend to be followed for dinner. What did you find on the Coral? Thanks! vegasbaby19 Posted July 4, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted July 4, 2016 I do think overall it's a much casual cruise than others I've been on. In saying that I will say there were many who really dressed for formal nights. Other nights in the dining room I saw plants of folks injeans. Whimsy Posted July 4, 2016 #14 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Do you remember what the main entrees were on the two formal nights? Do you have the Patters?

Lexy08 Posted July 5, 2016 #18 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Did you find the meal prices on land terribly expensive? Did you mainly eat at the lodges or venture afield?
Swice Posted July 5, 2016 #19 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Did you find the meal prices on land terribly expensive? Did you mainly eat at the lodges or venture afield? YES-- the lodge food menu prices are grossly expensive. On the flip side-- we all found the lodge food far superior to the cruise ship! The lodge food was fantastic. In most cases, there are few, if any, options to leave the compound for food. There are a few options to reduce your bill (order less/skip dessert, etc), but you're still going to pay. They've got you.
caribill Posted July 6, 2016 #20 Share Posted July 6, 2016 Did you find the meal prices on land terribly expensive? Did you mainly eat at the lodges or venture afield? You can find what meal prices were in 2012 in my report at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1727858 I doubt they are any lower now.
